    I'd have loved Kevin Long here until May, but his absence has allowed Marc Roberts to further develop and become a very able centre half at this level. So in some ways it's worked out well. One of our own players has stepped up and enhanced his potential. And that hasn't happened often enough in previous years.

    Our club accounts show us losing millions despite being a team of mainly inexperienced youngsters and loanees. For what he'd cost us even if we did get promoted I still don't see him ever being with us again.

    If,and it's a big if,we were to go up i would be more than happy to see Long Brownhill Fletcher Isgrove and Toney with us again next season.

    I think the point is they wouldn't let us keep him longer so we ended using our allocated amount of loans up because they wanted him back just to loan him out again when we would have probably taken him to the end of the season given the chance.

    Perhaps someone else knows better but my understanding is because we took him as an emergency loan we had him for the maximum number of days we could this season so can't get him again

    I don't think he's even played 20 games in the Championship so I don't understand where people are getting this experience thing from. Although I agree I would love to sign him up, I do think he'd be good enough.

    He was there first choice centre back when they got promoted. And probably would have been first choice in the Prem but he got injured so they got Keane from Man Utd so he went down the pecking order when back fit.

    Spot on. We couldn't have him back even if Burnley would give him to us and he wanted to come. Emergency Loans can only be for a maximum of 90 days with any one given player.

    Yes but in the January transfer window it could have been changed to a loan till EOS but Burnley declined because he was here to get fit for their first team and they wanted him back for the team

    Well I've just checked online and hes played 22 games in the league for Burnley. Hardly call that experienced. Quality player though just not experienced in that division
