Got to be honest, that's the worst England side I've seen (on paper) in years. I hope to be proven wrong this summer, but it looks piss poor that. Even if you include Rooney, Stones, Baines, Drinkwater, Vardy, Sterling etc, we're not exactly flush with world beaters are we?

When does this St Georges and all the other expensive ideas eventually see us with a decent side?

Have the national side got a game tomorrow? I didn't realise. I have no interest.

    Hart
    Flanagan Stones Smalling Bertrand
    Alli Dier Wilshere
    Barkley
    Kane Sturridge

That's my preferred starting 11 but the two best players Sturridge & Wilshere are complete lottery's in terms of fitness.

It lacks width but I really don't see any quality wide players. None of Sterling, Walcott, Ox & Milner fill me with any confidence.

I'd quite like the team I've picked above as a 3-5-2 with Dier dropping back making it -

    Hart
    Flanagan Stones Dier Smalling Bertrand
    Alli Wilshere
    Barkley
    Sturridge Kane

Obviously Roy wouldn't do anything drastic like that so close to a tournament

Why not give the fringe players a chance in a friendly? The whole purpose is to test different systems, players and tactics right? In my opinion fringe players should be used whenever the opportunity arises-friendlies, qualifiers where we have already qualfied and fixtures against the likes of San Marino.

Delighted for Jack Butland. Great guy and really deserves his chance. Hopefully Drinkwater will get a game soon.

Hopefully then we'll actually go into a tournament not massively overhyped.

I agree that friendlies are the best time to test fringe players but not in the run up to a competition. Our strongest eleven need to be up to speed come the summer and the more game time they get together the better. This has been massively hampered by injuries but I think with the addition of Wilshere, Sterling, Bertrand and Rooney that will be the side he goes with.

They'll probably make 11 changes at half time anyway.

I was going to go, but then realised the cost for watching a friendly really wasn't worth it.

Roy doesnt seem to have the bottle to find a place for Ross Barkley who for me, has to start in the summer.

    ---------------Hart-------------
    Walker--Stones--Cahill--Bertand
    -------------Wilshere-----------
    --------Alli-------Barkley--------
    --Ox--------------------Vardy---
    ------------Kane----------------

Thatd be my preferred 11 in the summer should Luke Shaw not be back by then. If Sturridge is fit and firing he'd be playing too but I'd definitely be finding of way of getting both Alli and Barkley in there.

When the Premier league stops sucking money out of the lower leagues and grass roots and investing in the English game.

To be honest I don't think it's a bad team. There isn't any big names on it, but it's the big names that have let us down in the past, so it would be good to let some of the young hungry players have a go.

This is a very different England side to 15 years ago and the so called golden generation. The spine of this lineup involves 4 players from one club which can only help too.

There's obviously a few top players missing from that lineup such as Barkley, and a fully fit Sturrige and Wilshere. Good to see Danny Rose given a go too who for me has been one of the most underrated players in the premier league for some time.

Kane with Alli supporting him works well at Tottenham. I don't have much interest to be honest but does look a poor international side.

I've read what others think but I see it as a balanced team.

At the back I would like to see Stones play but they have two really good centre backs. Strong centre backs that will cope well in a pressure environment.

At full back they have two attacking full backs that will make the pitch wide with the players infront of them moving towards the middle of the pitch.

Centre of the pitch Dier will be massive for England. He's turned into such a good defensive midfielder and will spot early when the full backs go forward and make it almost a three with the two centre backs moving slightly wider.

I really like Henderson, I feel he's got a great engine on him and will get up and down the pitch. Hes good on the ball too.

    I can't fathom why Cahill's in there.

He's great at kick & rush football in the premiership but struggles with movement. I still remember Kenny Miller turning him inside out for Scotland against England & it was only the other week that he actually turned his back on Lukaku who was running at him! Bang average.
