Like he's not got enough on his plate speaking with a Simon Grayson lisp, he has to contend with having a promoter who fails time and time again to get him big fights. It's not his fault he's had to beat some rubbish mandatory challenger. 36 and 0 with 25 KOs and a world title. Yet Eddie can't get him Khan, Bradley, Manny, Mayweather etc.
If they want to fight Bradley they will have to go America because I cannot see him coming bramall lane. Hope they get a big fight for brook though deserves it with all his set backs. Watched the eubank jnr fight too that was a right scrap Blackwell not in a good way atm by all accounts though hope he comes round and is okay
to be fair he had two fights with Devon Alexander called off. Kahn's dodging him. Mayweather retired, Manny has other things on his mind.
As a Brook fan it pisses me off. The big problem is the divisions the best in boxing & there's a lot of depth to it & the big name Anerican based fighters can keep fighting Diaz, Collazo, Algieri, Alexander etc & get a couple of million dollars from the TV networks over there. In most divisions you can lure the best to England with Sky PPV but at Welterweight they don't need to come here to earn big money. People say go to the States but you've got to receive an offer to go over there & he's had none. It's a tough one really. Porter claimed he wanted a rematch then pulled out of the final eliminator to fight him, Alexander pulled out of a final eliminator & then there's Khan who's turned down career best pay days for the last 4 years for crap fights with Diaz, Alexander, Collazo & Algieri instead.
I know nowt about boxing but that was brutal. Never seen someone stand up to hitting like it before, too hard for his own good I reckon.
When you look at a list of previous fights that include Frankie Gavin, Jo Jo Dan, Bizier, Carson Jones and the Russian guy that beat Hatton, then no wonder the big fights aren't coming. Yes, some were mandatory but Brook must be on of the only fighters in the world who honours every single mandatory. As much as he beat Porter in America, it wasn't an easy fight on the eyes, and as a result America aren't interested. Not just about money, it's about relevance, and currently Brook doesn't have any other than a World Title. Alexander is finished. Porter fought Broner and now fights Thurman. And Khan fights Canelo. All bigger fights than any of them fighting Brook unfortunately. If he's serious about being number one he needs to force his way in to America and beat someone in style. Then the TV networks will demand he fights the best.
If he doesn't get the big fights soon whilst in his prime, he will soon be looking for a new promoter. He's needs to break the bank to get a huge name to fight him in a stadium this summer. He's earned the right looking at his record.
So you like mocking people with a slight speech impediment do You..Kel Brook is a quality fighter who is being avoided by Khan...You are a W@nker!
Porter who was beat by Brook? And I can guarentee Khan isnt getting anywhere near as much money fighting Canelo as he would have against Brook. I'd like to see him fight Garcia and do a really good job on him, which I think he would. Khan then would surely have to fight him but then again I've thought the same many other times and he finds some bizarre reason for ducking him.
Porter vs. Thurman is a far bigger fight than Porter vs. Brook. I never mentioned money, but the pay per view numbers for Alvarez fighting on Cinco de Mayo weekend will be huge. Khan gets a cut of that, but fighting Canelo is a far bigger fight than fighting Brook, which was my main point.
In boxing money is everything and the big fights are the ones that brings the most money. Khan would be making more money fighting Brook and so it was a bigger fight for him but he's been very cute, fighting someone who's expected to beat him, still gets a big pay packet and virtually a free shot, if he gets beat he'll still be praised for taking the gamble. Thurman v Brook would be a bigger fight than Thurman v Porter, Brook against Garcia would be a bigger fight than Garcia v Khan. Lets not forget that Brook is a title holder and so pulls a lot of the weight when negotiating against non title holders and he'll draw the bigger crowds and ppv.
You missed the point in my first post. Brook is only a big name in England, therefore you see those as bigger fights but in reality they're not as America doesn't care for Brook at all. They'll lap up Porter vs. Thurman and Canelo vs. Khan. Brook doesn't pull that much weight. He'll have to give away everything to fight Garcia. He even went to 40-60 to try and get the Khan fight. His boxing CV is really, really limited outside of the Porter win which was scrappy, but you can't knock 25 KOs from 36 fights and an unbeaten record. The above could all change with one great win and performance though.
But in terms of filling a stadium and people willing to pay to watch on tv, Brook has a bigger following than Porter, Khan, Garcia and probably Thurman. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Over here. Not in America. Brook on Pay Per View over here wouldn't get 50% of the numbers Canelo vs. Khan will do. Brook isn't even really a household name in the UK yet and would only sell out a stadium in Sheffield.
Nobody goes to watch Porter or Garcia, neither of them can fill an arena nevermind a stadium and I didnt mention Canelo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agree. It's not like he's let his promoter down. Took on one top quality fighter & bet him in his backyard
Can't think why(!) <img src ="http://www.boxingnewsonline.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Kell-Brook.jpg"> <img src ="http://i2.irishmirror.ie/incoming/article3111134.ece/ALTERNATES/s1227b/Kelly-Brook-Valentines-for-New-Look.jpg">
