No Premiership football this weekend because of the internationals.

So why doesn't this apply to internationals involving under 21s, 20s, 18s etc when these players are playing first team football at a club?

Yer can bet yer bottom dollar that if Man Uniteds first team were hit by these games then they wouldn't be asked to play.

This international break has come at a critical time of the season where Barnsley can ill afford to let players go.

The rules are the same for everyone. We knew the rules when we signed so many youth loans. I think you know that.

    No I didn't know that.

But why should loan players be treated differently ?

Which teams in the football league have the majority of loan players.............that's lower league teams

If top premiership teams had a large percentage of loan players then I'm sure this system would be changed

I think it's a good rule as it "should" mean clubs give their own players more of a chance and rely less on loans knowing if they do well we could end up missing them.

next year is going to be fun due to the scrapping of emergency loans , theres going to be a load of lads like Isgrove etc, good enough to play for wales but not good enough to get a game at southampton,

sitting in the U21's wondering what hes doing with is career. im willing to wager that isgrove wouldnt have been picked for the wales squad were he still at southampton right now not getting a game.

I am pretty sure that a league two team had their match this weekend postponed because of international call-ups at U-21 level, or lower. Would have to check fixtures.

If they did, they wouldn't have been youth loans

Is emergency loan system that's getting scrapped next season will return not long after. Too many players knocking up and down who aren't ever gonna play a game.

At least it will influence is to getting longer term signings in but that's the only positive I can see.

Probably see them move permanently not just on loan too. Isgrove is 23 and nowhere near the Southampton squad, be shocked if he's there come start of the season.

It is Morecambe away at Dagenham which has been postponed........due to u18/23 call ups...the game against D and R in November was also postponed due to the same reason.............but here is the bizarre part of the tale.........the international game was played on the Tues night, the league game which was postponed was due to be played on the Saturday.........Morecambe did manage a game on the Tues night against.....yes...you've guessed...D and R..it was an FA cup first round replay...D and R minus the international kids went on to win this one....in the re arranged league match D and R with a full squad to select from lost the game........to me this showed how stupid the whole thing was......
