Nice to see Clough is now putting his stamp on the team. They are on the slide and it was to be expected with him in charge. Nice lad but not got his fathers nous to be a manager
Burton were rank bad. Their fans must be feeling nervous right, with everyone around them hitting form. I can't see them taking an automatic spot tbh. Wigan and Walsall for me.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think it's harsh to say he's been found out at Burton. They've got a small budget & clubs like that tend to fade in the second halfs of seasons
Watching them last night, it puzzles me as to how they got to be top of this league. They have scored roughly the same number of goals as Colchester, who are well in the drop zone, so it has been their defending of one-goal leads which has got them top. And yet it was their defence last night which looked clueless - slow and leaden-footed; no organisation; keeping too high a line, especially given their lack of pace. The two quality players they had on the night were Mark Duffy and Akins. On the Millwall side, it seems a pity that we missed out on Lee Gregory, who we wanted from Halifax Town, but who went to The Den instead. Looked a good, sharp striker and target man, but it does show that our scouting must be in good heart if we had identified him as a player we wanted. I think Burton could well wobble, unless they can find a way of scoring more than one goal to win games. if they were to lose Duffy through injury, that could look even harder for them.
The best form and results are off the spade work done by hasslebank. I expected a dip with Clough. It is just now taking effect
Every team has an off day. If any neutral saw us at home to Southend they would wonder how we were on such a fantastic run.
