Very poor, powder puff going forward and midfield unorganised.

Play off aspirations over now in my opinion, but at least we are safe and enjoyed our trip to wembley.
Roll on next season, really hoping we can keep this squad together to mount an automatic promotion push, otherwise its back to square one.
Give Hecky the job for him to asses what we need next season.

we did try walking it in but hit post twice and had chances kicked off the line - powder puff also a great injustice to their keeper who had a great game

We certainly turned it up a notch the last 15 or so minutes, unfortunately too little too late.

Bit harsh in my opinion. We had enough chances in the second half to have won convincingly. Just one of those days I'm afraid. I think Hecky might be regretting dropping Williams though. Bree is an excellent prospect but their winger, who was by far their biggest threat, needed a more robust defender up against him. Not too downhearted by any means.

First half we were lucky not to be losing but 2nd half I thought we gave everything and battered them. How the hell the ball stayed out after Hammill's effort I'll never know. Their goalkeeper pulled off 3 or 4 blinding saves and we hit the woodwork at least twice with balls also cleared off the line and cast iron penalties denied. Couldn't have done more and it was just one of those days when fate takes a hand in the result.
Bit harsh that statement just because we lost when if it had been our day we would have won by 3 or 4.

I'm just enjoying what has turned out to be a decent season. Anything like a reasonable October/November and we'd now be looking at automatic promotion.

They deserved a draw at least. That's Southend S****horpe Chesterfield at home where we've been less than impressive.

I think we have been pretty average for a few weeks now and like the OP said, it caught up with us today. I know it was going to be unrealistic to expect the performances from December and January to continue for ever, but we are somewhat off the boil now and up to today, we've been getting away with it.

Looking at the away games we have, which are all loseable, I felt that a win today was a must, otherwise we've probably blown the play offs. I think we have probably just blown the play offs. Oh well..

First half we were a bit lethargic but to say poor performance is very harsh IMO.

One point from the last nine at home is a little worrying but we're not out of it yet. I still think that we can catch Gillingham and possibly Walsall.
