Couldn't believe it when I saw he'd been dropped. Williams has been a revelation since coming into the side. Hecky has done a great job to date but that decision has cost us today for sure.

A real head scratcher. All I can assume is that Williams wasn't 100%.

    I'm not getting this..

Maybe Williams was knackered? He's made a step up to play football full time! Games are coming thick and fast.

Knackered? He's had a week to recover.

How do those playing midweek in Europe and for their country go on?

You're correct. No players need a rest, ever.

It's more likely that Hecky remembered Oxford's first goal. And one or two other things. And thought that Bree might be better in an attacking sense than Williams.

    Knackered? Hardly.

It is a squad game. We as spectators do not know who and what are the best players for each game.
Today was always a banana skin. We hit the post three times and their goalkeeper was like superman. Add into it a referee who was absolutely shi,t and it sums it up . Their young winger tore us to shreds, and Williams would have done no better against him than Bree. Never known a match with so many of our players going down with ankles being cracked with bad tackles and the ref never said a word. He never said a word when Brown skived Butterfield down either

It is difficult to accept tonight that the manager knew who the best full back for this game was.

He was entitled to think he knew. It could have turned out worse with a fit Williams picked instead. To say he would have done no better is not a fact.

Our players were going down with all sorts of injuries, from top to toe. No excuses there.

Ref sent off one of theirs. Yet we were still beaten. It happens. We were not unlucky today.

Their keeper did not pull off one save that he had no right to.

This was not a banana skin. It was how we have performed for a while at home recently.

Going 451 for an hour v S****horpe cost us 2 points. Today's selection and Toney down middle rather than Watkins were his second

Your blaming williams for oxfords first goal?? I seem to remember aidy ***** being turned over 3 times before the first goal. Williams is quality both defending and attacking. And he has a bloody good cross too. Poor from hecky today.

Agree with that. White was very weak in dealing with the cross for Oxford's first goal. Did a funny little dancing on the spot routine just before it was whipped in. He's only been a shadow of a player since coming back from injury

White doesn't seem right after the injury tentative and not able to tackle with any force. It's a shame as he is a smashing player in this division but it feels like we rushed him back when maybe we didn't need to.

The ball came over from the left flank, was crossed into our central area and yet our right back is to blame? I'd ask why White let the cross get in or why our central defenders weren't central to deal with it. Williams should be one of the first names on the scoresheet. I haven't seen him have a bad game for us yet. We need him back in the side on tuesday.

He ought to have had both Watkins and Toney on as Fletcher was non existent today. I thought they came to rough us up and the number of ankles being rapped and a useless Ref was evident. Their goalkeeper was exceptional today, and when Lady Luck puts the ball on the post and not an inch to the left says it all.
At the same time they missed an easy tap in. The run in will see some unexpected results and we are not done yet
Could be worse, Burton must be panicking.

If he remembered the Oxford goals, he should have dropped White.

Aidey White was marking two men for the first Oxford goal because Hammill got back.

How on earth can he be blamed for not stopping a cross when he'd two players to mark? Proper harsh
