Let's get our home form back and win the game by playing football as we all know we can. Perhaps Watkins might be fit & ready for a start. Winnall, to me, certainly seems to play better when he's in the side. Everyone was down after the Chesterfield match and we've now got the perfect opportunity to put things right. These players have done the club proud this calendar year and deserve our backing now the pressure is on. We may not finish in the Play Offs, even if we win our upcoming games. But we definitely won't if we give up and throw in the towel.
I've just come home after taking the dogs out on a beautiful Spring morning. It's got the juices flowing, that's for sure. After an appalling Autumn run, I've thoroughly enjoyed our displays since Christmas, topped off by our never to be forgotten day at Wembley. We're still in with a shout of the Play Offs, albeit it's going to be difficult. In my advanced years, Barnsley Football Club shouldn't influence my mood. But it does and I'm in a good & optimistic one this morning. I suppose I ought to grow up and act my age. I'm not going to.
Tuesday has come at the right time - just to get it out of their system. I thought yesterday felt really weird - can't really explain- Sunday was hanging over our heads and it's almost as if we were trying to 'forget it". I understand why as it was a league game and we needed to concentrate but it didn't work
Agree Kev, we should have won yesterday, move on and get behind the lads. Looking at Gillinghams run in I think they're the only team we can really catch. But our run in is tough too
We've both been watching Barnsley since Noah built his ark, Andy, old mate. When have we as a club ever done things the easy way?
In my opinion, Sunday was not to blame for us losing yesterday and appears to be getting used by some to offer up a convenient explanation for our defeat. If we win on Tuesday night, it won't be the reason for our victory, either.
I'm not blaming Sunday I just feel it was there and nobody knew what to do about - atmosphere was strange - pressure , Sunday - can't put my finger on it. Might not have had an effect on players as they are professional but crowd found it strange - we are not used to winning trophies at Wembley
I hope heckies feeding them raw meat until Tuesday, we need to come out and start quickly with some aggression. All too often recently we've made slow starts, it would be nice Tuesday if we got right at them from the off.
