Fletch for Toney, Williams for Bree, Scowen for Brownhill. Aidy White needs to find another gear as well. Looked like a pub player at times tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd be tempted to bring Watkins inside to support Sam and put Isgrove back on the wing. I agree with Scowen for Brownhill and Williams for Bree.
i wasnt there, but what did watkins look like tonight. i expect he was a bit rusty but did he look like he deserves to carry on instead of isgrove. and the two Josh's debate is still on, most fans seem to want scowen now to start instead of a fading brownhill. and heres an interesting one... does anybody want to see nyatanga involved again this season!
The fact that we can bring a player of Scowen's quality in at this stage of the season is fantastic. He is chomping at the bit and it is time to give Brownhill a rest I think.
I wouldn't,t bring scowen in for brownhill all our away wins have been with him in the side,I expect us to beat burton.
Yeah I'd be happy enough with that. Equally happy with Marley out there as well though, for his sheer work rate alone. My fear is he'll leave Scowen out wide. Midfield was screaming out for a ball winner today. Brownhill has been brilliant, but needs resting now for me.
Brownhill is undropable. After Hammill, he's the first one I'd be signing up for next season. Covers every blade of grass screens the defence and helps attack. What does Scowen offer that Brownhill doesn't. Makes me wonder what games people watch sometimes
Hourihane? Sorry pal, you are either senile or myopic. Has been our best player since Christmas in my opinion.
Jesus. Conor hourihane has turned into exactly what many (me included) fans thought he couldn't be, a complete central midfield player. He is instrumental to everything. That might mean he isn't constantly in the box to score himself, but he is in fact a by far more effective player by being in the appropriate place to support both attack and defence, meaning he now can be part of a central two, not be run out of the game and not be in a side that cannot stop conceding. Before, he often looked like scoring in games, but we were overran all game in midfield and too soft centred. It was fortune only that dictated whether we ended up scoring more than the oppo. Usually not. Take the game against MK at home last season. He ended up scoring two - but had been diabolical all game (in a lot of company to be fair) and we were already five down before this occurred. Now though, we look a proper team. He still has all the ability, but is now showing the positional intelligence, tactical awareness and overall responsibility that his prior performances, whilst undoubtedly often having end product in the final third, sometimes lacked. Maybe the captaincy helps, but high quality coaching seems to have done the trick. Look at tonight, it wasn't a vintage performance, at times he and brownhill looked second best to Kelly in the middle of the park - but he did all the graft required to stay in the game and come out on top, and produced a direct assist for winnall's header, played the quick ball to hammill to win the penalty, and was also involved in the build up to the first half winnall chance which hit the post. His set pieces always look like being nodded in, he is always positive in possession without being reckless - he is a special talent who we won't hold onto if we don't go up. But yeah drop him. *****. He's no Chris Lumsdon.
if we dont make it, what are the chances of josh brownhill wanting to stay with us. i wonder how much preston would want for him if they did want to let him go after all.
