Just a quick heads up here guys but a good friend of mine who will remain anon had a run in yesterday that left her very upset, shaken and angry.

She is a responsible dog owner and has had major issues with dog fouling on her road, outside her house etc and is in full support of these wardens. They have made some difference but still says its not enough because of the amount that is still going on.

Anyway she had taken 2 kids and dog for a walk round Locke Park and let the dog off the lead as she just walks with them quite happily. Then a few big random dogs cam running into the park so she was worried about them attacking her dog. So she put her on the lead and as she did she squatted down and peed.

So they carried on and 50 yards later has stopped and dropped a right old pile of muck for that size animal and without going into too much detail was a bit loose. So out come the bags and shes clearing up when this woman has come to her and said the following:

I can see you are clearing that up now but when you have finished can you come with me as you dog has fouled back there. Well she hadn't so she pointed out the dog had just had a pee and gone on the lead cos of the other dogs. So the warden then started using intimidation tactics like - suggesting she was going to embarrass her in front of everyone in the park but would walk alongside as we walk back to the mess.

So then pointing out the dog had just done her mess and how much do you think is in such a small dog then started taking her to court etc. if she didn't just pay a fine now. At this point the kids were getting scared and freaked out (kid even said she was scared and wanted holding and started crying) and the random dogs were coming bounding over. She even pointed out the fact she woudl never leave dog mess etc but this warden was hellbent on getting the fine.

So off they walked back to the crime scene and the warden found a turd so said friend picked it up and it was rock hard but apparently the warden had 'tested it was still warm' - what? Really? Anyway it was another great pile so no way was it her dogs. There were several other piles around it too. The warden continued to harass even in the face of all these facts and said friend then even picked up another dogs mess (which i said in hindsight was probably wrong in he scheme of things as its almost like admitting liability). So refused to give her details to this warden who then said they would use CCTV and her car reg to track her down.

They then followed her all though Locke Park for the rest of her stay just stalking her - completely ruining her visit and getting her really upset and angry. I know she is not a person to have done this and cant believe she was there getting harassed by the warden as she was pickup up dog mess. Beggars belief.

I can say from experience that dog fouling is a mega nuisance. We have it down our lane too where it seems people take their dogs for a sh!te rathe than a walk. I did a litter pick the other week and we also shifted 3 bin liners full of dog muck too. It was disgusting. Big respect to the guy that did that job. But its getting as bad again already.

Ive told her not to worry as there is no chance they could pin this false allegation on her but she still ended up taking both dog turds home to keep as evidence! lol Taking the piss when it comes to this. Those wardens sound like they were out to get tickets on a power trip. Do they get a bonus for every ticket? Looks like they have seen an easy target and gone for the kill. Poor lass.

Same with the litter police on town centre... paid commission.

Should have told her to bag it up and have it dna tested.

as i mentioned shes ended up keeping them as evidence just incase it goes further so who knows that might happen yet. Id take it to court and walkin and dump both turds right on the magistates desk and say tell me they came out of the same dog within 2 minutes of each other. lol

Anyone who drops litter by the way needs fining as much as they are allowed. I feel bad lowering car window to discard a chewed finger nail. Yeah I know it's disgusting but not as bad as folk who have no regard for society

know exactly what you mean. our lane is out of the way and we are contantly getting fly tippers. going to get some cameras up and catch the feckers. the amount of rubbish we got on the litter pick was also sill - about 25 bin liners full. GIven a lot blows off the M1 but the number of times we get young chavs in the ir cars coming and just dumping their macdonalds containers all over the place its pathetic.

Out in the countryside we get quite a lot of horse poo in the road. You never see anyone get off the horse to bag it up and put it in the horse poo bin.

I think that eating in the street and on public transport should be banned. Streets are strewn with containers and unwanted food, buses and local trains have drink cans rolling about the floor. It is no wonder that Britain has the most overweight people in the world with all this 'grazing'.

That can't be true, can it? We are probably close to the fattest in Europe but there must be a lot worse places in the world, the USA for one.

I find horse poo a bigger problem than dog poo. I run 3-5 times a week on the Trans Pennine Trail and they don't just poo they poo mountains of the stuff. Yesterday the pavement down Bradbury Balk Lane was full of the stuff.

As for dogs in Locke Park they should always be on a lead.

I would find out who this warden was and report this practice and let your councillor know.

I think the argument that gets served up in regards to horse **** is that it's bio-degradeable and nothing harmful in it. Whereas if a young lad/lass fell face first into a pile of dog or cat muck they could be in serious trouble. With horses you would just need a face wash.

    It still stinks regardless.

Dog owners are an easy target. The problem is that the minority of dog owners, and it is a minority, are irresponsible antisocial *****s who spoil it for the majority. There shouldn't even be a need to have dog wardens.

I live very near a children's play park and there are always several piles of dogshit just waiting for a little kid to fall or step in. It's unbelievable that anybody with a brain would think it's OK to leave dogshit in a place like this or Locke Park for that matter. They're antisocial morons who should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

I hope your mate takes this up with the council and makes a complaint. The problem is they're more likely to believe the warden.

Did she not point out to the wardens that the strays were nothing to do with her? Presumably they should have been picked up by the wardens?

Like DeeTee say's above, it's more to do with revenue generation than owt to do with stray dogs.

You can bet if it had been a big brussen f***er, they wouldn't have intervened either.
