At Wembley there was a concession for over 60s and there is at Sheffield United. I thought the club was moving into line with others when they stopped the over 60 concession.
Even Leeds Utd dont rip the over 60s off. http://www.leedsunited.com/i/leeds/siteDocs/201516-Customer-Charter.pdf
I believe there may still be a concession at 60 for existing ST holders, and that the 65 limit applies to new STs. Suggest anybody turning 60 this time asks the club before renewing.
No one will suddenly pay more. Those 60-64 renewing will be paying OAP Bear in mind pension age going up so wait until it's 68-70 before OAP
If you've had a season ticket for the past five (I think) seasons, then the club lets you have your ticket at concessionary price. If you enquire at the ticket office they will tell you. I'm sixty three and this will be my third season as a concessionary.
I have just renewed my brother in laws ticket. He is 63 this year and held a season ticket since the 2009 / 2010 season. I checked with the box office and they said he qualified for a seniors ticket so we went down with his birth certificate and got sorted no problem. Great service from BFC and a saving of £165. He hasn't shared any of that with me though! I would definitely ask if you fit that criteria. You have to have had a ST since 2009/2010.
I'm relying on this. I'm 59, so hopefully my last year paying full price. I've had a season ticket since 1982 so I think I deserve a concession !
I started back with a season ticket 2010-11 so i have a run of 6 season tickets, if the above applies then i have to wait until i'm 65 till i get concession. is that correct?
I think so, but it's worth a phone call to check. Just need your client reference number and they will check it over the phone to save you going in for no good reason. I wasn't sure what the rule was and it was the Wembley game that made me question it. Worth asking as its a big saving.
I've had a season ticket since 1896, they have to wheel me into the ground, wipe my arse every five minutes, as well as my chin, I smell like Becketts Hospital, but tell em I've lost my Colchester stub and they put the phone down. Do I qualify?
The vast majority of us over 60s (especially if still in work), have hell of a lot more disposable income than folk in their 30s and 40s. Hardly a rip off.
OK. I renewed my ST yesterday having turned 60 in February. Here is an e mail I received from the box office when I asked for clarification. 'Hi Season ticket holders who have had a season ticket without a break since 2009 – 2010 season do qualify for a senior concession at the age of 60. To take up the offer please come into the ticket office with your proof of date of birth and we will amend it for you.' Box Office
Rowing said they were bringing it in line with EU law. They were supposedly putting up a year at a time like the bus pass.
