We had it in our own hands in March. But losing convincingly 2-0 home to Southend which few saw coming saw us straight back out of the top six.
In our own hands then but a long way to go...only 2 now... it's a big difference. Beat Colchester next week and Gills cannot afford to lose and Scunny must win.
If we do make it to the playoffs I hope it's Walsall over the two legs as their form has dipped a bit recently . Anybody in final though I think in a one off game we could grind out the result.
I hope in the semis it's Millwall so...... 1) We can beat them for a 3rd and 4th time this season. 2) We don't have to be surrounded by 40,000 of that club.
Nah, it's the way I'd want it. No matter what happens next week we're guaranteed to have summat to play for on the last day.
I agree with dream boy rather get rid of millwall cos they will ruin the final won,t exactly be friendly whoever they play.
Us vs Bradford and Wednesday vs Hull played same weekend at Wembley, should be a interesting weekend!!
If you look at our home results, and the teams to whom we lost, you will identify the reason why we are relying on the last two results.
we are getting very bluntish deciding who we want to play in the final when we havent even made the playoffs yet Id be happy with just being there though must admit I hope Bradford beat Millwall
Its a shame our (near )recent goal scoring form dried up just when we needed it or we would have done it reasonably easily, the chances have been there just not been put away. Still can't help thinking what would have happened if Johnson had, had the balls to just let the team play earlier in the season rather than thinking he was clever
Boss at my work who is a big Owls fan, and he is convinced that they will miss out on play offs and Blunts will finish 6th!! Long shot but we shall see!!
