Just seen that. Won't have done his chances any harm.

Deserve a start over Fletcher and Toney IMO.

Not for me. Not at this stage. Off the bench for the last 20, if we're out of ideas

Doubt they'll take the chance at this stage anyway.

How did Jones and Kelly play?

Jordan Jones was meant to be a right talent a couple of years ago but got in some bother. Never heard of Alex Kelly

I've been disappointed not to see more of him to be honest. At Burton and on Saturday I was hoping he'd get 20 minutes. This hat-trick shows he's sharp though, so he may have a part to play in the next couple of games and (hopefully) beyond.

    It's not like he's a young lad. Isn't he mid 20's?

Just back from U21's and whilst Tuton took his goals well, not up to first team pace I don't think. Playing against kids really. Not sure which were the triallists but a lad called JOrdan came on towards the end and looked a bit like Darren Anderton in style, didn't do much really. Lad in centre midfield looked ok alongside McCourt (wore captains armband) and I liked our little left back but no one else stood out for me. McCourt had a lot of the ball but lacked the quality and the fitness, seems to be a bit heavy. Lad in centre midfield possibly Jordan Jones now I've looked at his picture.

    Was Templeton laiking? Cowgill?

Not heard their names in a while. Both good prospects.

Is that the lad we signed from Ilkeston heard a few who watch 21s say he has looked good. As for tuton can only score against what's in front of you needs a chance in 1st team for me will either sink or swim and toney has been drowning of late.

    Barnsley Team
    Templeton
Callum Evans Will Smith Nyatanga Rhys Dolan
    Jak McCourt Charlie Harris
Alex Kelly Shaun Tuton Otis Khan Jordan Jones

Kelly and Evans replaced by Josh Kay and Louis Wardle 15 minutes from time

Really entertaining game, but it was bloody freezing. We should have had a definite penalty and we hit the post twice. A poor mistake by Nyatanga for their third goal. He does at least one a match which leads to a goal. Otherwise the young kids in defence did well, Jones and Kelly on the wings also did well and I think it is worth giving Tuton a start. However, I think Hecky will start with the same team on Saturday, and if we are 3 up after 60 minutes then bring him on. If we are definitely in the playoffs at 5pm on Saturday I would start him against Wigan, and give a few others a run out. Got my Wigan ticket before the game

Cheers for that. But Templeton didn't play in goal, surely? :D

Think Cowgill's having a bad time with injuries. Didn't play for months then started the last couple & came off in the last u21's game midway through the first half

My man says 'accomplished' without being spectacular, so dunno what the future is for them both.
