Against a guy currently ranked 13th in IBF, below both Chisora and Haye. I know very little about boxing, but is this really the best test he could have had?? Is he the mandatory challenger or summat?

He'd find better opposition on Wellington St

I'm sure people who know boxing will explain, I just don't get this. If he takes him out in the 1st round, he's learned nothing. If he doesn't, people will question his quality. Don't get it.

I'm a little underwhelmed by it all, but it's a voluntary defence (of which I believe he will have two) however I would expect a big summer showdown possibly to unify the division. I would like to see him fight chisora or haye

It's on PPV as well. Hearn is milking his cash cow. Although I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are going this easy route so as not to scupper a unification fight with Fury at Wembley.

All boxers fight bums on the way up, all of them. To pad out their records. But fighting bums as World Champion? Not only that, but if you are a casual boxing fan or just base your knowledge on what Sky et al tell you, AJ is supposedly the greatest boxer born. So why not Parker, Stiverne, Ortiz?

People can mock Tyson Fury all they want, but he won his titles properly, by dethroning a legend in his own backyard, and comfortably. And he's fighting him again. No pissing about. And that is the only reason AJ has a belt at all. Because the IBF stripped Tyson who had agreed to a Wlad rematch. So that belt's Tyson's in my eyes.

But again, I can't help thinking this is all part of the promoting masterplan. AJ vs Fury.

And even if by some miracle, they both lost their fights/belts, you could still stage that fight.

Wonder how many people will pay to watch him spark a bum out in 60 seconds? Not even top 10. Weird.

The big money would come from fighting Fury to unify the division, but he can't as Fury will have a bore-draw with Klitscko in July and Joshua would have to wait until the back end of the year to face whoever wins that. So he is taking a lesser opponent as a voluntary defence to gain experience and cash before the big fight. Probably better than going into the ring for the first time as champion against a dangerous opponent.

I'll be paying for it but not to watch Joshua, I think groves Murray will be a real cracker

That would mean Wlad is going to come out throwing, and not clinching. So I hope you're right. It'll be a better spectacle. But Tyson via KO, for me. Probably early.

    Looking forward to it.

No interest in AJ vs Bum. But Groves and Murray looks tasty. I'll watch that. Bit sad though that a non-title all British fight is a better fight than the PPV main event.

Is he a Bum though , similar record to Joshua , don't know who he's fought but he's unbeaten and knocked them all out

He fought Fred Kassi in September and was beaten. But somehow got the decision. http://www.badlefthook.com/2015/9/2...ic-breazeale-gets-controversial-win-over-fred

Kassi is fighting Hughie Fury next.

Brezeale's last fight was against fellow American, Amir Mansour. Again, quite a lucky ending. http://boxingjunkie.usatoday.com/20...nockdown-to-stop-amir-mansour-in-fifth-round/

He fought for the US in the 2012 Olympics like AJ, but he lost in the first round 19-8.

I can't see how he's getting a title shot. He's ranked 19th with most orgs.

But the public love an early AJ knockout. And I'm sure Sky and co will big up Breazeale during the next couple of months, as they did Martin. And the bloke himself will speak like he's going to beat AJ, as Martin did.

    Money for old rope.

He'll be able to get more ink done with the coin he's going to collect for getting sparked inside 3 minutes.

Heavyweight boxing is all cuddles and bear hugs.

The better bouts are all lower down the scales.

Isn't fury fighting Wlad again because he HAS to? Because he agreed to it for money before the last fight? The same reason why they rightfully stripped him of the belt isn't it?

He's dreadful. Brezeale or however you spell his name lost to Fred Kassi who's fighting Hugie Fury next week but got given a gift decision because he was the undefeated prospect.

He also lost every single round & was knocked down by Amir Mansour who's pretty poor before getting a stoppage win.

    It's an awful fight.

To explain it he has to fight someone in the IBF's top 15. There's 2 spots blank & 10 are tied up with fights scheduled or in Teper's case a failed drugs test.

Joshua basically had the choice of Brezeale, Molina & Duhappas. None are very good but Brezeale's probably the worst of the 3 but he's 6 foot 7 & undefeated & a lot easier to sell than the other 2.

I don't have an issue with the fight itself because there's not many options but it should not be on PPV. That's a disgrace
