Why would resting him for one game make a difference. We no what he can do and Winnall. If they need a rest then let them rest through the week. I'm sure 6 days rest through the week would be more help than 90 mins off at the weekend

There is also the risk of injury from the last game and missing the playoffs. If we are confirmed before the Wigan game, then give them a week light training and a rest on Saturday and have them all fresh for that challenge.

    Two certainties:
    (1) Isgrove will never score for us.
    (2) We'll never score from a Roberts throw in.

So would I. I'd go even further that if we guarantee the play offs this weekend i'd tell the players i'll see you next thursday. 4 full days off to rest up, have some family time and if they want get away somewhere for a few extra nights. Still three clear days of training before we play fringe players at Wigan. Then when it gets to the semis our regulars should be much more refreshed.

I really like Adam. He's one of the best players I've seen laik for us. And he's been a terrific addition this season. Saturday could well be the last time he plays for us at Oakwell. No way on Earth will he be rested, nor should he be. Were we to be assured of a playoff place before Wigan, thus making it a meaningless fixture, only then would I think about resting him or anyone else.

I have to be honest though, this is the first I've heard/read about Hammill being rested.

And neither do I think 'we are where we are because of him'. That's really unfair on the other lads. You do go on to say it has been a huge team effort. I agree with that 100%. Take Hammill's goals and assists away and would we have fared better/worse? Take Winnall's 20 goals away. Conor's many goals and assists. Davies' and the back four's clean sheets.

    Team effort.

But aye, I'd not be resting him.

I dont think it's unfair at all.

He dragged these lads out of a massive hole and they haven't looked back since.

I disagree. It has been a team effort. I think others as individuals have made bigger contributions but as I say, a team effort so no interest in referring to them.

Dunt sit reight with me bigging one up over the rest. Not after what I've witnessed since 2016 began.

But it's an opinions game (that's my usual cop out, in order to not get into a tedious argument). :)

Obviously its a team effort. You dont win anything in football without a good team. But Adam Hammill was the catalyst.

You're not alone in thinking that, and I sort of agree that he was. Along with others.

If we struggle to beat Colchester, then I'd be worried about Wigan away, and our potential to do anything in the playoffs...

He played his part in turning our form around but so did.......

    1) Conor getting captaincy.
    2) Winnall with his goals.
    3) Going back to 442.
    4) Putting Roberts back in the team.
    5) Bringing in experience like Long and White.
    6) Brownhill who's barely seen a loss since he's been here.

Etc etc etc. He should take credit for his part but him signing wasn't the one and only reason for our turnaround. Far from it.
