Nobody is denying fans were pushing, shoving, drunk or whatever else they say. What people are rightly questioning is the policing and handling of these situations and why weren't previous experiences adhered to and why the fek were that gate opened. That's what a lot of people are rightly asking but the old prejudices keep getting quoted. Some will never accept the courts decision.
Just Liverpool fans then? And it threw the police to such an extent that they didn't know how to handle it and lost the plot?
Some will never accept that Liverpool fans are also to blame. Isn't it amazing that it only ever happens to them? ? Hillsborough and heysel ????
Re: The other thing still waiting for the bit where I said typical Scousers rather than saying as my opinion based on my experience.
No, I was just pointing out what you'd put. By the same token that the jurors have decided the fans were not to blame, we can't surely blame all of SYP, some of them did the best they could that day. As in most cases, it's always the innocent that suffer. I'll leave it there.
Not going over it all again I've posted plenty on who's to blame as the courts have confirmed Just hope plod never diverts hooligans they're trained to contain and deal with my way in the future ,then say its their fault. Sithih
It give an insight into the reasons why we had to have fences at football grounds which was because of the behaviour of football fans. No fences, no tragedy. Fans have to have some of the blame in my opinion.
All of SYP aren't getting blamed and rightly so. In fact, during the inquest, quite a few on the ground have been praised for the help they tried to give both to the victims and their families. The cover ups that followed the disaster weren't instigated by the regular bobbies. To reciprocate, I too will leave it there.
Re: The other thing The path at the side of Millmoor was scary enough, I once went from top to bottom without my feet touching the floor it was that busy after a game, luckily my Grandad managed to drag me out of the middle of it and take me to the side.
You seriously suggesting that the authorities put fences into stadia and hinted that if there's a disaster the fans are to blame ? If they can't guarantee safety the show doesn't go on end of . If there's a terrorist incident that causes death and destruction and the authorities have done everything to try and prevent it then fair enough .but I don't expect once I'm in the ground for them to open the gates because the terrorists are crushing each other ,then blow us all to kingdom come then blame the terrorists.
Re: The other thing Some of the 'views' posted within this thread are bloody mind boggling. The main factor that caused the 96 deaths was the opening of the gate initially, and the subsequent failure to block off the central tunnel, which had been done previously in other big games to ease congestion, forcing fans to go through different entry points. And that's been proven, as fact. To try and still blame supporters is the act of an idiot or someone with a different agenda. My agenda is truth/facts. Such a shame that it's taken 27 years to be accepted as such. RIP 96.
Excellent read Wonder what the sun have to say tomorow!! Shame on them.....shame on the obstructers of justice and the truth. Just scandalous
I'm glad I'm way too young to have attended football in those days. Really don't think I would have continued attending after some of the experiences some of you mention on here. It sounds like it was a very sad state of affairs for English football in general, for ALL major teams. Sounds like the hillsborough disaster could have happened to any set of supporters. I've read a few reports from supporters back then at all teams in Europe (believe we had a 5 year ban at the time of hillsborough?) and I also think the police had a lot to contend with to try and maintain safety for everyone. Which ultimately they failed with at hillsborough, and the truth about the cover up should come out! But were some of the procedures in place with stadia design are also the English fa and English football supporters fault? Reading this gave me an idea of what was happening in general back then. I'm not saying this is any way shape or form anything to do with hillsborough, but events like this must have contributed over the years to stadia design and policing strategies? I cannot imagine anything like this happening now, thankfully. RIP 96 http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2015/...yewitness-account-of-may-29-1985-in-brussels/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Your last point. I just wonder how this will turn out if a massive incident happens and no one can get out because of seats....
He said the legal teams of the force had pursued "denials of the past" and blamed "mythical, late, drunken ticket-less" fans for the deaths. this is a quote from one of the families calling for south yorkshire's chief constable to resign.
