... has in no way whatsoever improved?

For the umpteenth time they ran out of lager on Saturday. Or had not the skill to change a barrel.

The queues remain as long as ever and the number of bar staff, irrespective of demand, remains a resolutely pathetic 2.

    Many give up the struggle.

Thus the half time experience has stayed chronically poor.

that really surprises me as it is absolutely garbage in the Ponty end and has only marginally improved !

    I disagree.

I got a pie at the Chesterfield game.

    Chicken balti,

And I didn't **** myself inside out all night.

    Improvement.

It might have something to do with not having anyone apart form a couple of staff who are trusted to handle money.

You place your order. Someone has to come across a few yards to do the transaction whilst the other then goes get you snap.

    Crackers...

And for the record. (Because I'm classed as a potential hooligan).

I assume we still can't have bottle tops?

I gave up on the catering a couple of seasons ago. It's just not worth the hassle.

Not seen any crackers. Nor any miniatures, which is most upsetting.

Anyway, you place your order... then one of the two servers disappears either to get change for the till, or to get someone to change the barrel.

This is the service provided to your own fans. The service you choose to have them suffer.

    Why can that be?

Still...they never seem to run out of tap water.

Those who enter the field of play shouldnt be trusted with bottle tops.

    I need to change tactic.

Maybe I ought think about lobbing a pie at someone. Might do more damage with it being 10000 degrees inside it ;)

Haven't used it since they closed the dedicated bar in the middle of the stand and so effectively merged the food and beer queues.

4 or 5 years ago they had that bar running like clockwork. You ordered your drink before kick off and it was ready and waiting at half time.

It just needs someone with a bit of nous running it and not a faceless catering company.

I haven't bought anything at Oakwell since the old John Smiths stand was still up, the half time Bovril and the pork pies straight from the oven with screaming hot jelly that would run down your chin and clothes. And probably only cost 6d.

It's hardly surprising, what actually comes out of these fans meetings apart from telling the fans what they want to hear to keep them happy for another month or so?

Anybody with eyes can see how sh*t the catering is at BFC, and has been for years.

I really can't get excited about this. It's a pie. Have summat before or after the match. I doubt starvation will kick in during those 2 hours..

There are those that get to the games late though, through work, especially evening games. Also away fans who arrive with little time to spare.

Haif time pie is a ritual with some folk and for kids its the highlight of matchday.

Last thing I bought were a bovril cos I were feckin freezing otherwise nowt for years.

I don't actually, you'd be surprised to hear. I'm not denying it's rubbish. I just don't really get why people get so wound up by it.

If you're arriving late, hungry and with little time to spare, surely you're getting one straight away though aren't you? You're not waiting until half time, on the verge of starvation, knowing the queues are going to be big...surely? C'mon man..
