There are 6 of us going to Wigan, one being my 8 week old son (we couldn't find a baby sitter!), like a complete tit I've bought 6 match tickets but only 5 free coach tickets, thinking an 8 week old won't need a seat, his car seat won't secure to a coach seat so I'll be holding him and there's no point taking up an empty seat when another red may need it. It's only occurred to me now (I've not slept much) that the coach driver might not let my 8 week old on without a coach ticket. Does anyone know if that's the case? or am I being paranoid? Thanks
Are you seriously taking an eight week old baby to the football? How on earth are you going to change him/her if required? You need to get your priorities right.
Have you confirmed if Wigan will allow an eight week old baby into the ground? I'm not trying to be funny but I'm sure some clubs would refuse entry to such a young child. If you're OK with that I'm not sure about the seat on the coach; I'm pretty sure loads of people take babies on coaches but as to needing their own seat I'm not sure. Best to ask the club.
I would definitely check with the coach company and ask what their policy is re small babies. What you don't want is to turn up on Sunday morning and the driver to refuse to take a baby. Also check with the club - they're not going to want a small baby in the front row or in the middle of a crowded stand. I would only take the young un if they have a 'safe' area for babies/young children.
My thoughts exactly. Probably the worst match to take a baby to too - last game of the season in a packed away end,
Wow. Hope your taking the mick. I have a 9 month old and wouldn't dream taking her to a match (especially this one). No offence and this is just my opinion but I don't think a packed stand is the right place to take one so young especially with the lack of baby facilities plus crowd noise etc... It would kill me to miss this game but if the baby couldn't stay at home with a reliable sitter then I'd be staying at home myself. Like I say......just my opinion. Not only is taking a 8 week old baby to a match one of the most idiotic ideas i have heard, surely its the law that a young child needs to be secured in a child seat ?
How do you go about transporting a sprog on public transport? https://www.gov.uk/child-car-seats-the-rules/when-a-child-can-travel-without-a-car-seat found this info: Passengers over the age of 14 years must wear a seat belt in coaches. They must be notified of the requirement to wear a seat belt (this is usually by a notice on the vehicle, an announcement or a film). Each passenger is legally responsible for wearing their seat belt. The law does not yet require passengers under 14 years old to wear a seat belt. However, all passengers are strongly advised to wear seat belts or the correct child seat on all journeys.
You should have just rang the club instead of posting on here. The do good brigade are disgusted with you. I don't see nowt wrong with taking your baby. If he does poo lol, it'll be no harder to change in the ground than it would be in a pub without baby change facilities. I took my son to Oakwell at a similar age as I was desperate to go to a match against Huddersfield and didn't have a baby sitter. crowd was bigger than it will be on Saturday.
Surely can't be serious. 8 weeks?! Its mental. My daughter is 13 months and I would not dream of taking her. Its crazy. A football ground environment is no place for a baby.
Listen to yourselves. I have a 2yr old boy. He's on his 3rd season ticket and has been to almost every home game since he was born. Does that me idiotic, nuts, crazy? Do we need to get our priorities right as well? I don't think he was asking for your judgement on his abilities as a parent. Wind your necks in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
