Talks with him this week http://www.skysports.com/football/n...e-colchester-united-in-the-summer-sky-sources
Wow. I've been hoping we'd go in for Moncur for sometime but I just presumed he'd get a Championship move. If we pull this one off that's a big statement.
13 goals for the second worst team in the league was better than all but Conor from our midfield. Capable of getting 20 at this level in a better team and if we go up no reason why he can't reach double figures there. Clearly learned alot from his dad who was a good player too. I'd be happy with this too but feel he will end up at a southern side.
Would be a great signing. I think most players will be waiting to see how we get on in the play offs though.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chuffed with this, if true. Only seen him here and there so I'm hardly qualified to say whether he's this or that but he's highly rated at Colchester, looks to have done very well there, has terrific stats etc, and he run the show at Oakwell the other week. A replacement for Hourihane I would have thought. Unless we get promoted and Conor sticks around.
Replacement for when Brownhill goes back to his club He will get flak if he signs for us because we don't like goal scorers or players who set up goals or Conor and Sam would have been top two in our player of the year award
Yes he does but not as many and over half the length of time as the two mentioned with him playing for us much later in the season.
It was between Hammill and Hourihane for me with Robbo a definite 3rd. Sam is a great goalscorer at this level but I think his all round game and concentration outside the box frustrate a lot of people.
Cracking player but does he not play as more of a number 10? Not sure where he'd fit into the way we currently play but would be a good un to have around. It does seem to be a challenge too to persuade thems frum darn sarff to come to Barnsley, but they managed it with Big Alfie.
I thought the same. He played as a no. 10 against us. Be interesting to see where he'd fit in with all the 4-4-2 style talk
Best player on the pitch last week. He'd be a top notch signing for us. He could play anywhere in the front 6 and scores goals as well. I'd be chuffed if its true.
Winnable isn't paid to run about outside the box. He's paid to stand inside it and kick it towards goal.
He's paid to be able to make 10 yard passes to his own team when we are on a counter to carry on a promising attack and very often fails to do so. Either goes too close to their player and he nabs it and we're facing a counter ourselves or he passes it behind the player which means they have to stop and pick up speed again, by which time they're all back in position. But yeah apart from nearly absolutely everything else except being in the right place at the right time he's not that brilliant a footballer. These days I always think you need more. I still love him, especially that penalty last week, big ******** there.
