But promised to do my bit for charity and have trained too hard to miss it. This is a brief overview of a drunken New Years Day party conversation between me and the organiser. Him: "I hear you like a bit of cycling" Me: "yeah, it keeps me fit as I get older, gives me something to do" Him: "My company is arranging a big Dales ride for charity, you fancy joining. We'll make a real weekend of it" Me "When?" Him: "14th / 15th May" Me: *Checks end of season / play-off dates*<checks end="" of="" season="" dates="" -="" possible="" play="" off="" weekend=""> Me, again: *Double checks current league table*<double checks="" league="" table=""> Me: "Course I'll join you, can't possibly think I have anything on that weekend" Doh. So although not a ST holder, I have barely missed a home game this season. So spare a thought when they step out at Oakwell on Satdi and tip your hat to MAMIL fundraisers. Enjoy, COYR www.justgiving.com/andycycles</double></checks>
fair play to you mate...but i'd definitely be developing an injury that prevented me from doing the ride
Bad news - I got a similar problem for the away game at Walsall having re-arranged an evening meeting I need to be at for that date about a month ago I cant rearrange it again unfortunately. Trying to decide whether to throw a sicky or just record it and what it as live from when I get home
Ditto. Agreed to run a school fund raising quiz on 14 May - having checked date of play off final but not semis.... Might catch first half hour on telly. I was very happy to sacrifice the Eurovision Song Contest.
On call this weekend, trying to swap it and someone said they could swap for the last weekend in May - hmmm that might pose a bigger problem! Thought i'd just risk it, laptop in the car, leg it from ground if i get called....then someone said they'd just swap the Saturday.
I'm on holiday for both legs, booked it when we were sh*t. l was looking at the time difference and sussing out a game plan for Saturday and the missus pipes up with "Don't think you're p*ssing off to watch that crap on TV on our first night of the holidays". It's going to be a cracking holiday.
I'm away for the first leg (and missed the Wigan game). Husband brought the laptop along specifically so that I could listen to the matches though as we've tried before on his phone and can never seem to get it to work. I'm sure you can talk her around.
I'll miss the Final if we get there. Fev Rovers playing the championship summer bash in Blackpool. I booked to go back in December. I could cancel it and go to the final but it would mean driving down to Wembley off nights and then driving back after the game. So if we do get there I will prob watch it in a pub in Blackpool. The bash is a great day out anyway and I'll still get to watch my 2 fav teams
Don't leave it at that. Some serious wooing needs to be done on your part, could end up being a good holiday anall
I feel your suffering Andy. http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?243373-My-scenario-this-Saturday
