I've just been listening to the radio and they were talking about Stones saying he's gone backwards at Everton and he needs to be playing for a manager who can improve his defensive game. He needs to move over the summer for his own sake.

All the Everton team are going backwards. It's not a Stones issue its a Martinez issue. Weren't long ago Coleman was linked with Man Utd, McCarthy with Spurs, Barkley with every top club, Baines was seen as top class etc. Heads are down & they've stopped playing for Martinez. Be completely different with a new manager

I haven't seen John Stones play very often since he left us. When I have seen him, he hasn't looked very good. I don't mean to be critical, that's just what I've seen.
^^This, pretty much. For Everton I can't remember seeing him have a good game at all this season. He was bloody awful at Oakwell. Although he did nicely allow Sam to score. But for England he always looks the part. Weird. The more I see him, the more he looks a midfielder and nothing like a defender.
It's only gone wrong for him in the last 6 months. He's made some bad decisions and lost his confidence, at a time when the team as a whole have been in decline. I reckon it began with over confidence and playing a bit too much football on the edge of his own area.
Just because he's from Barnsley doesn't mean we cannot be critical He's been poor all season And yes Everton have in general I wouldn't take him to euros IMO I hope he moved on and kick starts his career again but he's a completely different player this season
I reckon he will be gone in the next couple of weeks ( which is a shame because I like Martinez ) because if they don,t there best players could all start leaving.
