"Nigel Adkins is the single most qualified person on Earth for this job" said McCabe just under a year ago. As others have said, they're making the same mistake again. Sacking a bloke a year into the role. Nigel Clough is a decent manager, he was performing miracles in my opinion, having them in the playoffs with that squad, taking them on FA Cup runs to Wembley etc. Nigel Adkins might be a monumental cringe puppet but his record as a manager at this level, one allowed to build his own side over time, it's very impressive. Let's not forget Danny Wilson got them 90 points one season, and they were a penalty shootout away from promotion. He was ridiculously sackec the next year with them in the playoffs, and still in with a shout of automatics. McCabe keeps pulling the rug. And now they're appointing a bloke with a L2 promotion on his CV, as well as numerous mid table finishes in said league and some years in the non-league scene. I'm assuming it's because he once played 100 games for dem blades in the 80's? Because there are many other managers I'd be looking at if I was McCabe. Keith Hill would be perfect for them. He's apparently off to Blackburn though so who knows. I look forward to Dem Blades getting relegated next season.
BBC report states "Adkins guided Sheffield Utd to their lowest finish since 1983"! Not sure that guided is the correct term to use!
First hour and half a time filler until they can find Brian's number to contact him for the final hurrah.
Don't know about not paying much out for players mate, they reputedly paid £1m for Matty Done. WE probably paid less for Mawson, Hammill, Roberts, Winnall, George Williams Scowen and Hourihane combined But then again we have a chairman and chief exec who do know what they are doing.
