Best game he's played for the club.

What a performance. Won balls in the air all game, pressed, assisted and mostly importantly scored 2 cracking goals!

Only half time but I feel a party coming on at the Bescot...

    Come on you reds!!

Wouldn't say it was his best game by any stretch of the imagination..but certainly his best for a few weeks.

Felt his all round game was excellent. Complete domination of their centre backs.

I agree ,but he's been doing it all season..just last few games he's looked a bit off.

    ^^This.

He can't be at his best every week, and the harsh critics ought to remember that.

He was his normal self today. Things came off. That second goal was a beauty. Showed pace, power and a finish right there. An assist too.

Some folk now feel daft. Such is football.

His best game for the club by a country mile. If he'd have been at that level consistently at any time before tonight he'd have been long gone.

I've seen him play better a few times. The whole team were on their A game for me. Which helps.

Fact is, he played very well and he's a joy to have at the club. I hope that's not the last we've seen of him at Oakwell in a reds shirt. Superb player.

No you haven't seen him play better but your support for him is admirable.
    We all need a hero.

The attempt at points scoring here is rather embarrassing.

I've seen Winnall score hatricks but not play as well as that.

He's never dominated a centre back like that. The amount of headers he won was incredible. Great assist for the own goal. Shot from distance for the second and then the third was the best goal I've seen Winnall score. Best goal at Oakwell this season.

He's been winning those headers all season long..his performance today was just typical of the season.

His goals were typical of the season but not the all round game.

He'd be run away player of the year if that was the case. Not 4th behind 2 players who have played half a season.

    Keep it up Sam!

Some of Sam's best all round games have been away from Oakwell this season so may not have been noticed as much. Shrewsbury, Colchester and Bradford, for example. I thought he was awesome at Bradford against two rock solid centre halves, particularly as Fletcher was making his full debut alongside him and was nothing like the player he is now.

However, there's no need for me to judge him in one game v another, he's a goalscorer like we've not had for a good while and that makes me happy. I'm just high on today's magnificence.

Also, the Winnall and Fletcher partnership is really starting to blossom.

Soz. Didn't realise you were in control of my eyes, thoughts and opinions.

24 goal striker. I've supported him from day one. I refuse to be made to feel bad for that.

We've all supported him from day one haven't we?

    We're Barnsley fans that's what it's about.

Ignoring the fact you're a continual critic of Sam's, you've tonight given the impression he's done stuff he doesn't normally in a game. I disagree. I'm not the only one. And I've merely said as much. No need to get flustered.

I do agree that it was the best goal of his that I've seen, because he showed so many different assets to pull it off. Although I still think his Notts County goal was special.

It'd be nice of you to accept others' opinions, to at least appreciate where they're coming from. Reciprocal discussion. But it's all one way I feel, and thus I bow out once more.

What a night. What a performance. To a man.

    Point scoring? Gi'or.

I find it difficult to engage with you, pal. You talk a lot of sense, but the manner in which you post puts me off I'm afraid. Take posts 20 and 21 in this thread for example. http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?243291-Walsall-away-tickets&p=1835244#post1835244

I get the idea you prefer to argue, rather than discuss. Rather than hear others' views. I might be wrong. As I say, I agree with much of your thoughts on stuff, so it's a shame I don't find it easier to engage. Perhaps I'm to blame?

    I dunno.

But yep, delighted tonight. Delighted since Xmas really. Onto the next one.
