To be fair a few of your posts do have a bit of a sense of smugness and self satisfaction about them. There's a general air of "I see things that you plebs don't, and if you can't see them then I can't help you." I think that's why you put people's noses out of joint. I'm not suggesting you stop posting or anything, there's more than enough room for everyone's opinions on here. Just maybe consider the tone of your posts a bit more carefully.
You can't ALWAYS see different to the majority it just isn't possible. Tonight I feel you've forced the 'minority report' and made yourself look a bit of twit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Weird that anyone would take pleasure in over analysing today's game. Today was one of the 5 best days I've had supporting Barnsley. **** analysis. Maybe I'm not an intellectual though.
Look, I posted a Minority Report as I do after most games. I do not ask people to agree with it and that is why it is a minority report. Generally, I post it and leave the comments unanswered. I am not interested in controversy, and yet I appear to have unwittingly attracted some. I do not call people names. I do not question their motives. I do not question their character and I do not look down on them. But because I try to use good English, because I chose to punctuate my sentences, or because I use unfamiliar words, people assume things about me. Why? Perhaps they should look at themselves first. I have no feelings of superiority, so perhaps it is just that others have feelings of inferiority.
I enjoy reading your opinions, and I'm really sorry to say this, but beginning your post with "Look" says it all. You may or may not agree, but it reads like you think you are somehow better than others on here. Maybe have another chat to your wife about it? But please don't stop posting, just revel in great victories like today and enjoy being a Reds fan.
This is wonderful coming from the person who accused me of not "liking" you, just because I disagreed or challenged something you posted.
Exactly, and I feel that a fair few people on here would tell him to his face too. Especially as no-one has said anything unacceptable in this thread.
I don't think it's your sentence structure or choice of words. It's more the patronising and condescending attitude, of which this post is a great example.
I understand you are a teacher by profession. I do not think that I have taught you any new words. I think that you probably have a far better vocabulary than I do. That was not the purpose of my comment as you well know. Your comment disappoints me. It is not worthy of someone in your profession.
I think the point JD was trying to make (although I'm sure she can (and will) make it herself) is this - why mention vocabulary, learning new words etc in a thread about a football team's performance? It's totally irrelevant. Your views on games are interesting, in my opinion, why not just stick to the football?
Don't worry about it, I quit two weeks ago. I still get to keep my understanding of fancy words though
their manager was saying they will play their usual game and try to frustrate us, and maybe nick something to take into the 2nd leg. well either they had an off day today, or they were very lucky to finish 3rd if thats what their normal game is.
I loved the game today. We took our chances. Walsall didn't. Enjoy it. It could all change at Walsall you never know. That's my report. The players have been fantastic this season. To single anyone out for criticism today is absurd! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
What a wonderful day today has been. Red Rain, whilst I always read your reports with anticipation, there are times when you need to sit back and offer up some praise for the endeavour and commitment these lads are showing to our club. I read your stuff because it's interesting and because I like your post match analysis. However, your wife and Whitey are right. You're not Nostredamus and you should seriously think about changing the way you relate to people. You have described this place as like being down the pub without a drink. Good comparison........however you would fast become the bar bore unless you could see some glorious technicolor in what this group is achieving. I love analysing football. My one brain cell understands the game more than anything else I come across in life. It also understands that we have to dream about what we can achieve. Seems to me that you're not a dreamer In my opinion Josh did not get toasted by any stretch today . You disagree. Fair enough. I thought he handled him well and that he also provided us with some good attacking intent as the game grew. I was concerned pre match as to how Josh would handle him but within 25 mins thought the contest was even. I love Scowen as a footballer and he is growing into that position despite the fact that we all know he is at his best driving from midfield. But on this day try and find a smile and some happiness in the knowledge that we go on Thursday in a position of strength. Oh and by the way, you ignored my question of you the other day..........in many posts you have stated that we're not good enough to go up and that going up would be too early. Answer me this................if you were the manager what team talk would you have been giving to the players in the last 4 or so games.........given that, in your opinion it is too early for us to go up? Your logic baffles me.
Me for one. I gave up on this thread a while back but had to see where we were up to. Attention seeking in its extreme. Sorry for any punctuation errors. Jesus wept.
