Just as an anorak footnote...for the younger bbsers. ..the tune for ' Just like watching Brazil' was written in 1934 by Richard Rodgers ...the same guy who wrote ' You'll Never Walk Alone'

    Did get a round of

    People say that footballs boring
    Ronnie Glavins always scoring
Can you hear the Ponty Roaring
    Glavin is our king

Going in the East stand upper for a bit. Reight song.

Bit daft to get precious about a football chant though innit. Certainly not invented by Wigan or their fans. Nicked like most are. If we adapt it to suit us all the better. There is no right or wrong way to sing it.

Who cares where it came from, to have 3 sides of the ground singing and bouncing was fantastic, best atmosphere at oakwell in many years long may it continue

We need to think up a chant to the tune of that Galantis - you and I song, we seem to have adopted that song from Wembley.

    ^^This.

I do wish our fans would slow the singing down though. The young uns I mean. Every rendition of every song is twice as fast as it was when I heard it years before. Even the bog standard, "BARNSLEY, BARNSLEY, BARNSLEYYY.. BARNSLEY, BARNSLEY, BARNSLEEEYY.. BARNSLEY, BARNSLEY, BARNSLEEY, BARNSLEEEEY, BARNS-ERR-LEEYYY". Ninety miles an hour.

I like songs to start a bit slow and get steadily quicker. But each to their own. As long as there's noise.

I enjoyed that Ponty End video. The lads are clearly buzzing. They're young. That's them as reds fans forever, and their kids hopefully. It's what it's all about.

BRAZIL is my favourite song I think. Even that's a tune we pinched. But we made it ours.

To be fair "your defence is terrified and (or cos) Winnalls on fire" makes a hell of a lot more sense than "your defence is terrified and will griggs on fire" which doesn't even sound right at all. "Will griggs on fire". What? Will griggs's on fire? Will griggs. On fire. ?

I think it's a bit pathetic for someone (not you) to be getting so wound up over our fans singing a slightly different version of a song and crying that we haven't retained the spiritual integrity of a song that made no chuffing sense in the first place.

It's like if another team had sang 'Brazil. It's just watching Brazil" and then crying that we added 'like' to make the song sound better.

    Maybe a rap track...

"It was all a dream, I used to read SHOOT! magazine,
Mido & Georgi Hristov trying to get in a limosine,
    Hanging crosses in the box,
Every Saturday, Attack, Mr Magic, Adam Hammill....

    No ones been pathetic?

The song sound terrible though if half are singing it properly and then the other half are singing a song that doesn't even go with original tune.

Below is the words and tempo of how it should be sang not the 100 mph 'cos' rubbish that the youth in the Ponty are singing.

    https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/731833161756356608/pu/pl/in4_31GCF1foQxHJ.m3u8

If you were singing it's just like watching Brazil and the guy next to you was singing it's just like being Brazil in a quicker tempo you'd think wtf are they singing there.

The players buzz off it and were singing it themselves for each other outside Funky Buddah last week... Isgrove's on fire, Conor's on fire etc. Plus it sounded great belted out in Chennels at 1am last night.

    That's good enough for me.
