All joking on one side for now...I have always read your reports and as you know have not always agreed...however they are thought out...not knee jerk reactions to a couple of goals either way that some take as the difference between a good performance and a poor one. I was engaged in a lively discussion back in November and branded a happy clapper for suggesting we were a better side playing better football than the results were suggesting...and equally engaged when things picked up for saying some of the wins were not as good a performance as some of the losses....at the end of the day it's all about opinions and open minds , and your reports..love em or hate em..are not the 'pub team update' rubbish
that followed every defeat..and silence following a win.
I think you've had a bit of an over harsh kicking on this one...but keep posting..always worth a read.

MI then....you'll know what this means then 2h67sj890-mgjshgtt66544nqqppngjkkhgsvdfhjkl shshggtbbnt ayhti978mlz....l that was the best coded joke I know!!!

Red Rain. Just let it go.
Put a smile on yer face and try and lighten up a bit. And stop feeling sorry for yourself. And stop saying you're a private person and then follow that up with tales of your private life. Start another thread about what you see as the positives in this remarkable season. Tell us what your top ten moments in the season have been. Stop revelling in the fact that you think you're in the minority.
It's not hype at the minute. We are fckn good! Celebrate that. They've given us the chance to dream again.
Btw.......red rain is a superb moniker for this forum........but here comes the flood is a better track......in my opinion.

I personally think that we could use the end of what has become a very successful season (whatever happens in the next two games) to offer an amnesty to thereev (provided he behaves himself, of course!)

From your remarks, it is obvious that you have kept returning to this thread over the 24 hours or so that it has been gradually accumulating responses, if only to tell me repeatedly that I am wrong, or that I am not what I say I am or that I have some other fault in my character that I might not be aware of. I have to live with myself, so I am aware of every one of my character flaws. I have got used to them and I accept them all with a degree of resignation. But, I ask myself, why does he keep returning to this thread. Does he see himself as my psychiatric guru, and is anxious to pass on a cure for all my ills. Or is it simply that he has been entertained by my independent take on thing BFC, and has been motivated to contribute to the debate that I have generated because I have a different outlook on things, in which case, why is he motivated to change the way that I do things on here. He says that he rarely agrees with me, as if it would bother me that I do not have a ringing endorsement from him. But football is all about opinions, and if there was only one opinion, then there is no discussion, no debate, no argument. I do not post to have 100 posters telling me that I am right. I post in order to encourage and take part in debate.

You insist that we are good. Does that mean that in your opinion we could not be better. Your position seems to be that I should abandon all thought about improvement and simply wallow in our current success, but I am not like that, and I do not think that football is either. If a team does not constantly seek to improve, then it begins to go backwards. The current team is not in the same street as the Norman Hunter team that was promoted from the 3rd tier, and that is the measuring stick that I measure them with. You will have seen that team just like I did and will know the truth of that statement. If you accept that statement, then you will be able to measure the chances of this team having a successful future. Yes, I could forget about the future and revel in the temporary nature of the present, but I do want to be that person. I do not want to be the sort of person who does not look ahead, and no end of lecturing could get me to change that aspect of my character.

So my advice to you is to accept my posts for what they are. Read them if you want to read them, debate them if you want to debate them or ignore them if you want to do that. They are always going to be the same depressing rubbish. You will never change the way I am, so stop posting about me and start posting about what I say.

Yet you take offence if anyone disagrees with or you take it personally.

We won 3-0 in the first leg of a play off semi.

    We played well.

The atomsphere was one of the best at Oakwell in years.

    The town is buzzing.

    People are happy and smiling.

    Oh looks its red rain.

Red. I've not entered this discussion to date, just had a very nice weekend, sunshine, eating out, watching my team on the cusp of a second wembley visit in a season and revelling in a rare unity after the most awful first 20 games of the season. It's been a good weekend.

This isn't a criticism, I just want to pose a couple of questions to you that I want you to answer to yourself, no need to share them with me or anywhere else. To be introspective and analytical.

What are you hoping to achieve from continuing this thread? Is it likely to be achieved? Will responding to each individual lengthily make a difference to how you want to be treated and perceived?

This isn't an attempt to halt you posting or suppress your views and perceptions. I generally enjoy your postings. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I don't agree. But that's irrelevant. It's to make you think.

Keep up the postings, don't be shy to analyse, but smell the roses too. Sometimes its nice just to smell the roses. There's nothing wrong with that. Enjoy that they are simply there.

He doesn't have to "smell the roses" if he does not wish to.

There seem to be too many on this thread (including the OP) who offer advice or make unsubstantiated assumptions with regard to the personal circumstances of others, rather than sticking to responding to their own version of what they saw on the pitch and of the progress or otherwise of the team in general.

There (or maybe "Look!"). My turn to try to be superior.

Indeed, nobody has to do anything they don't want to do.

Everyone acts and types how they want and choose to. I like Red Rain and enjoy reading his posts. Simple as that.

Well Ive just watched the game back on Player, during the game Lalkovic got round Scowen 3 times. One which ended up with a dangerous cross, which was defended well by the Rock Solid Crew (Roberts and Mawson) and the other 2 came to nothing with Lalkovic chipping it straight at Davies.

All told and if you watch it back you will find that Scowen does a great job, in fact in the oppositions half in the 2nd half he gets passed their highly rated full back on a couple of occasions, one which ended with a really dangerous cross that could if not should have been converted.

I thought Lalkovic looked dangerous but nothing more apart from one moment where the final ball matched the dangerous position he was in.

As a sidenote the Commentators also spoke highly of how Scowen had stuck to his task and played well.

Your summary to me is so far off the mark that you were always likely to get a response. If you are going to post controversial posts then you will get a significant amount of responses, where people will disagree with you.

Ive not posted about the game yet, because I wanted to watch it again, without any 9% Lager in me. I enjoyed the game, in fact I loved the afternoon, its what it used to be like at Oakwell every week for at least a couple of seasons. I for one will not pull anyone down after these 14 lads, Hecky and his staff have given us a team, and an Identity that I am proud of. Again I'm not saying you aren't feeling the same emotions as me, I'm sure you are, but maybe post about them more often.

    You Reds.
