Now I was going to post this in the red rain thread but I thought against. Like many I enjoyed been at the match on Saturday and went through all the highs and lows that came with a match like that. After the game since I've watched the game back in full and via the highlights package on Barnsley player. Now whilst watching the highlights I just realised how many times they got at and often past Scowen. It's not great to see if I'm Bern truthful. It's an area I can see Walsall attacking come Thursday night. Now I understand why he put him in at rb. I wouldn't replace him with brownhill either
Hopefully it's just a short term fix. Questions remain over White's fitness however I don't see Scowen having much of a problem against Millwall. As for Scowen over Brownhill, I'd favour Brownhill on present form, but it was a different story 3 games ago. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Always look to improve. Sports teams that enjoy a win always go downhill quickly. Bayern win title. Days after the season sign two massive name players. Barca will do the same. It's why they are what they are. Constant improvements to be made
I am sure that Hecky saw the issue, which is why he brought on Aidy White and moved George Williams to right back. I would not be surprised to see that formation start at Walsall on Thursday. Josh did his bit ok, especially when brought into midfield. I never remember Lalkovic causing those sorts of problems when playing for us, apart from his first game. Definitely a danger area for us on Thursday, but I think that Hecky will have it sussed.
Josh is doing a good job at right back but he's out of position and will undoubtedly get beaten on occasion. On Saturday Rico Henry who came with a big reputation was exposed by Isgrove on several occasions and he's a specialist. If other players were fit then Josh wouldn't be playing right back but they aren't unfortunately. Brownhill looked shattered a few games ago but has played himself back into form and dovetails well with Conor so no I wouldn't change that.
Or because of monopoly of a poor league on average. I suppose Celtic & PSG will be signing this summer and thats the only they'll win the league next year?
It's a non issue. The only reason scowen is playing full back is because there's no alternative. As soon as our full backs are fit, he'll be back in midfield
This ^^^^ Why Hemsy wants to point out a midfielder doing an emergency covering role because we have 3 specialist full backs injured isnt as good as they are when fit seems a bit pointless If you want to pick a player to criticise Id go for Toney - still dont know what he offers
Ha ha, it's my bet that Hemsy will definitely be voting to leave the EU in a few weeks - get them unlimited fishing quotas restored, eh?
I put what I did because Ive seen many people say they wouldn't change the team. I put what I did because of that. Please don't comment my political views. Especially when there not true
I have watched the game live and again on tv. Scowen got beat a couple of times but neither time of watching did I think he was having a torrid time and needed replacing. I defo wasn't thinking come on Hecky get white on. I think bringing on white was more a chance to give him some minutes after injury rather than because scowen was getting ripped to bits. its more likely you read redrains post saw people disagree with him and thought you'd have a piece of that. Hence the new thread.
I didn't bother reading past the first few posts on the Red Rain thread as I imagined it would just turn into a slagging off thread. If White is fit, switch Williams to RB and play White at LB. No players playing out of position rather than two.
No. I'd leave it the same, if everyone is fit. It's a side that's just turned Wigan over and smashed Walsall.
Couldnt believe it when they took Lalkovic off on saturday, looked the player he never materialised into for us. Having said that, Scowen is obviously being played out of position but his performances at Sheff Utd (barring one moment) and at Wigan (except the first 15 minutes) were exceptional. "on toast" was the comment used. And seeing as I've only heard or read one person suggest that he was, I don't think a poll is needed. On toast would suggest Josh was continually skinned, bamboozled and that his winger had scored or created goals.
Personally I thought that the reason Scowen got beat a couple of times was that Isgrove doesn't know how to mark anyone so Scowen was having to try to mark 2 players who were standing 30 yards apart. It's a weakness that left Bree exposed too. Not a complaint about Isgrove by the way, it's a flaw that can easily be managed
