I have a £40 bet at 5 - 1 on Barnsley to be promoted which I placed before we made it into the playoffs.

It slidy things on the betting slip which I can cash out some or all of my bet. I have some options

    Option1.
I can cash out now for £96

    Option 2.
Or I cant wait to be promoted and risk it all...

    Option 3.
Or I could cashout £40 (my original stake) - Maybe a little more - which would leave me with £20 riding on us actually being promoted - netting another £100.

The original £40 is the winnings of a result of a free bet.

My natural inclination is to take option 3. but wait until after the wallsall match because I think the return will improve slightly - but what would the experienced gambler do?

Cash out enough to pay for your Wembley ticket and travel and leave the rest on.

Option 3 100% mate. As long as the winnings are actually yours and not another free bet

    Wow!

What's the cash out currently on that?

I'd find it difficult not to take some money out - or at least lay off against Millwall.

Doesn't seem to be a cashout option available. I might lay a bit off if we get to the final, but I'm tempted to just gamble.

I've got £15 on Accrington, Barnsley and Brighton. Stand to win nearly £600, they're offering £6.41 to cash out, think I'd better take it!

Another way of looking at it is to ask yourself whether you'd put a £96 bet on today to win £200, because that's essentially what you're doing if you let it ride.

Not exactly, because she's not actually forking out £96. I definitely wouldn't wager £700 to win £1,500 because I wouldn't want to end up on -£700. But given the worst outcome is -£15 I'm happy to not cash out.

I'd say lay off a bit before the final (should we get there!) on that one. The dream would be if Barnsley go ahead- say if Millwall become 5/6 -1 to win promotion then you can put a couple of hundred on them in-play and come out with well over a grand guaranteed.

Well played, that's a super bet.

Not exactly, but essentially. By offering the cashout, they're saying that you can have this money immediately as yours - if you have the opportunity to get that £96 in your bank account, by turning the offer down you're basically forking it out.

I've £25 on a 4 timer of Hull, Us, Plymouth & Grimsby prior to the playoffs starting, Grimsby already won, Plymouth already booked place at Wembley and us and Hull looking certs to follow bet pays £2247, currently being offered £247 to cash out.

I put a tenner on us to be promoted at 33/1, think it was around Christmas, cash out is currently £136 but expect that to go up to around the £180 mark after Thursday if there is no disasters.

I had a tenner on us to win the JPT at 12/1 on the morning of the Wigan away quarter final, I just let that run and took my £130 winnings so might do the same with this one and hang on for the £340!
