Looks a good player from my limited viewings. Vaguely surprised we have signed a right back with Bree and Williams to call on.
He played with Marc Roberts before in the England C team. http://www.thefa.com/news/england/development/2015/feb/england-c-cyprus-u21s-report-170215 If he can do what Marc has for us, he'll be a cracking addition. Welcome to Oakwell Andy.
He's an excellent signing. He's very quick and plays the right back position like a winger, charging up and down the flank. I've got friends who are Barnet fans and, when we went in for him last summer, they were gutted that he could be leaving. I've just text them the good news!
I'm not really understanding this signing at the minute. Shouldnt we be seeing what league we're in before making decisions? Also in a position where we already have 2 really good young players competing plus, with the way we set up, we need 2 strong defensive full backs not wingbacks. Does this mean Williams is leaving? All the same, I hope he's a brilliant player and we've made a real coup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Some thoughts from the Barnet fans.. http://www.onlybarnet.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10865&p=180934#p180934
It makes sense to me. You only have to look at our current situation, with Scowen covering at right-back. Bree seems to pick up a fair few minor injuries, which I suppose is natural at his age, and despite his quality, Aidy White is injured about 50% of the time. Williams has shown he can play comfortably at left-back, which is a massive plus for us. Yiadom will provide cover at right-back, and I imagine we'll see him further up the field as more of a winger. Don't forget that, from next season 'emergency loans' are scrapped, so we'll need a slightly larger squad, and players who can play a number of positions.
This with a cherry on top! I'm so bloody glad the club aren't fannying about worrying about which league we're in next year - just identifying talent that they believe is good enough to play and develop at Barnsley into Championship players or higher. That's the whole basis of our recruitment. Would imagine IF we went up which is probably 50:50 we'd then sign a couple of decent premiership drop outs or championship old heads to help steer the young talented squad we've put together. Hope to god the days of signing loads of journeymen to try and keep us just about surviving in championship is over. think we'll look to sign a CB, CM, LW and at least 2 strikers so we don't have to rely on loans. Toney, Fletcher, Isgrove and Brownhill will all be going back. If we could replace them with Long, Moncur and a few other young hot shots the club have identified already I'm sure we'll have a cracking season whatever league we're in.
Id imagine Isgrove will sign permanently and Fletcher will stay for another season, regardless of what league we are in. Brownhill will probably sign too but I seriously hope not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Think it's more likely White won't be offered a deal because we don't trust his ankle or injury record. He sounds really well liked by Barnet fans and they know him better than us. How times have changed from the days of this forum asking why we are signing a certain player from a lower league club. We can now see how it's bared fruit in recent times with Hourihane, Scowen, Winnall etc so we just wait and see
Is this the Brownhill who kept Walsalls highlly rated Romaine Sawyers so quiet on Saturday or a different one?
