Man utd bomb

    They say it was left over from a training exercise where the fake bombs were planted in order to train sniffer dogs in finding them.

    Now Man Utd, when defending themselves have said that they (the club) wouldn't have been able to find the bomb with a pretty match security sweep using sniffer dogs because no real explosives were used.

    Is it just me or do the two stories contradict each other massively?

    What doesn't make sense is why have fake test explosives that aren't identifiable as being test units. It's not like the sniffer dogs can read or the person looking for it would find it easier.

    Is it coincidence that a former Man Utd players father was also the bomb disposal expert that carried out the controlled explosion? Apparently the MOD have confirmed the officer in charge was Danny Welbeck's dad ....Stan!

    That's the bit I don't understand. If the fake one contained no explosives so they could be found by sniffer dogs under training, what was the point of it? Like saying that they are training drug dogs by getting them to find empty packets that never contained any drugs.
