Every interview the bloke speaks so much sense.

He's so refreshing to hear from after the rubbish we've heard over the years from Hill, Flicker, Wilson and LJ.

No ********, no buzz words, no management speak, no rhetoric, no repeat use of the same phrases and cliches, no papering over the cracks, no over egging the opposition.

He says what he thinks rather than what the media want him to say when they ask him rubbish generic questions.

He's not over trying to do anything new or fancy to get his name heard (LJ).

Obviously interviews are much easier when we're winning but as someone who is lucky enough to speak to Hecky every so often he is exactly the same bloke in person as he is in his interviews.

Yes. it makes a refreshing change.

Whether we go up or not he probably is going to have a challenge in the summer building for next year, but I've got every confidence now in our recruitment.

Hopefully Stones will move on & there will be a bit of cash to spend.

    Don't worry it will come!!

Theres only so many interviews you can do without reverting to management speak.

Don't get me wrong I think Hecky talks very well and love to hear him.

I think its unfair on all managers that they have to face the press every week because as I say, there is only so much you can say without buzz words or by repeating yourself!

I'm not sure the first time I heard LJ speak he was massively keen to get his buzz words in. 'Triggers' being the one that stood out.

Love Hecky, but never heard Wilson talk rubbish. If anything, they have the same down to earth realism. In all honesty... :D

Wilsons worst habit was over egging the opposition and papering over the cracks.

Maybe Hecky will do the same when he experiences a bad run of form I dont know.

I wont say any more on it as like I said this threads about Hecky.

Are you saying that you didn't know people would react when you put the relatively straight-talking Wilson in the same category as Lee 'Corridor of Confusion'' Johnson, Keith 'Endeavour' Hill and David 'Special Human Beings' Flitcroft'?

I just thought people would focus on what I'd said about Hecky rather than get their knickers in a twist about Wilson.

My knickers are fine! :D You damage your own points by 'over-egging' them. ;)

We did this topic before the 1st leg. And like I said then, I find him a pleasure to listen to.

Wilson spoke sensibly in interviews. I liked listening to him. He also threw the odd joke in. I felt his selection policy for a fair bit of his second spell was questionable as were his signings here and there, but in interviews he was first class.

Nothing like Lee Johnson, who I also enjoyed listening to. How Lee remained calm, focused and positive during that 8 game streak of defeats I'll never know. He never got flustered in an interview once. However, he did use buzz words and he did talk ******** now and again.

Flicker was 50% fantastic to listen to and 50% a total ****** to listen to. Affected by results. Speak to him after a win, no problem. After a defeat? He had the tendency to go defensive or aggressive. Never forget his reaction to Giddings asking him about Bobby Hassell. He showed his true colours there. But Bobby and the other lads got him over the line, got him the job regardless.. and he ditched them still.
Every player I've heard speak about him reckons initially he's a joy to listen to, to work with. But then you realise it's the same spiel over and over.

Keith Hill was the greatest interviewee ever. I used to look forward to his media stuff more than the actual games. He too would act according to moods/results. But not as obviously as Flicker did. After some defeats his interviews were gold. Watford away springs to mind, Blackburn away. His pre-match rant about Leeds before we did them over at Elland Road was special.
Folk like to paint him as a lovely person on here, but I remember the huge majority loving him, when we were winning.

Hecky starts losing, same folk will start on him.

Wilsons 2nd spell he talked some right ****** after a defeat at times he would talk a completely diffrent game to the one I had just watched us get outplayed. He defiantly papered over the cracks in many post match interviews. Easy for hecky atm he is doing a great job if we go on a bad run next season goes under abit of pressure and folk start getting on his back things will be diffrent.
