A whole bath full (literally) of soapy water just came crashing through our bathroom ceiling. Turns out that the guys upstairs have just had a bath. Water has come pouring through in a much, much smaller fashion before when the previous residents had baths over the years and we have told the landlord each time. This was like a waterfall and is still dripping down the walls now (30 mins later).

Yeah, we've got our dehumidifier running and it seems to have done a good job at drying out the room. At least bathrooms are better equipped at coping with water than if it would have happened in another room. I'm also glad it didn't happen whilst we were away so there's two silver linings. Still not heard anything from the landlord though!

I think there is a design problem with the overflows of both baths and sinks. They should be made capable of handling the water from both taps, and then people would not have to suffer the consequences of others carelessness.

Think of it as a way to save money. Just time your showers for when they empty the bath and stand under the drip. Sorted.
