According to Wayne Rooney How my heart bleeds for them. It really must be so hard to support a team who regularly finish in the top 4 and win major honours. Especially those who have the long journey home to Croydon It's like Arsenal fans. For them, finishing in the top 4 for the last 20 years and winning the 2 previous FA Cups means Wenger should be sacked
I honestly can't understand what one gets out of supporting a big team- especially if you don't get to games regularly. The level of disconnect between you and the club must be very odd. I do think supporting a "big club" betrays a slight weakness of character in that you can't deal with losing modestly. IE lots of those Man United/Liverpool fans in town that turn up to the odd Barnsley game if we are on a good streak
For my sins I went out with a man united season holder. In my defence she was a hot 40 year old milf and I was a horny 30 year old just out of a long term relationship. Still had to finish with her mind. Used to hate the Saturdays spent in that ground. ****ing awful fans. Actually got abused if I got excited enough to dare stand up. Not that I was often that excited.
I work with two United fans and the only thing they harp on about is how hard it's been watching Man Utd these last few years
Been sat with them this afternoon at Wembley, their sense of entitlement is gobsmacking, every challenge in the area was a penalty, every tackle by a Palace player warranted a yellow card, and all done with absolute seriousness, not one whiff of wit about them.
It's all relative isn't it? To Manchester United it's been tough/a disaster, to Barnsley it's f*cking dreamland.
It must be an absolute nightmare not winning a major trophy for such a long time - we should be more sympathetic. Supporting one of the 'big' clubs must be horrendous.
I often think that Celtic fans have it the hardest. Imagine how difficult it must be only being able to win a one horse race once a year. It's just not fair on them.
