Anyone heard who the ref is for our game and what his record is for yellow cards etc., just wondered with the style of play adopted by Millwall, what his discipline is likely to be?
Neil Swarbick - he was awful when we played Chesterfield but at least he's a 'premier league' ref and isn't likely to let thuggery go unnoticed.
Yep, reading a few posts on their forum, they're hoping Fletcher & Isgrove (two mentioned specifically) are put in the stands early doors to shake them up. Classy bunch.
Great thing about that is we still have hourihane, brown hill, hammill, and Winnall even if they take fletch and isgrove. We've more depth on the pitch than your average '1 player' league one team - and that should be Millwalls undoing... They can't 'neutralise' them all.
Is this confirmed? I can see that Williamson is confirmed for League 2 and Madley for Championship but can't find anything on League 1. Swarbrick was truly awful against Chesterfield and let Novak, who is a pussycat compared to Morison, get away with near murder elbowing Alfie every time they went for a header.
Only saving grace with this fixture is that its televised to large audience with proffesional pundits analysing his reactions and decisions . He may let one or two go as if he hasn't seen them but he'll be very conscious of the criticism ,or should be anyway.
"In March 2015 Swarbrick made a high-profile error during a Premier League match between Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion when he sent off the wrong player in a case of mistaken identity. In the second minute of the game, West Brom's number 25 Craig Dawson committed a professional foul on City's Wilfried Bony, but Swarbrick subsequently dismissed number 23 Gareth McAuley, who had been close to the incident. City went on to win the tie 3–0" Sounds like a cracking ref. If he anything about him he'll be able to spot the Millwall thugs attempts to kill the tie through assaulting our players. It's the only way they can win. Hoofball and Elbows.
I definitely saw it, however the page that is was on on the football league site isn't ther anymore so maybe it's been changed? Maybe they look at assessor reports and saw a negative last time he officiated us (which really wasn't that long ago).
Dont think it will be announced until tomorrow theyll have waited until teams confirmed. Unlikely to be Swarbrick as it doesnt usually go to a Prem ref but to one at or near the top of the assessors' reporting system in the FL. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Did the Sheff Utd home game n all. Quite card happy, doesn't let the game flow. However, I've always felt Deadman was a shocker and he was superb on Thursday night in my opinion. So fingers crossed Mr Swarbrick isn't a *****. ***** isn't allowed? What if I wanted to tell folk I'd just *****ed my finger?
