Anybody heard anything else about transfers? Only know that we're supposedly in talks with striker Simon Cox from Reading. Not sure what to think of this one as he's not been great recently and he's 29 whereas we're looking for younger players. Then we've already got Payne, Tuton, Ash, White, Winnall and Fletcher(maybe) for strikers and we've got plenty of back-up so wouldn't see the need to sign him.
Wigan want Connor. Brizzly want our Adam. Newcastle and Villa after Super Sam. Don't ask for sauces. Nick your own from Wetherspoons.
Simon Cox would be a right signing. I think Cryne doesn't want to invest in anybody in their 30's but with him being a free agent plus we need experience to go alongside the younger lads we've got. We can't expect to compete in The Championship, if we go up, withoug any experience or it'll be painful.
I suppose it might depend on which league we are in next year, but I would not be going for Cox. The whole ethos of the club's success has been to acquire young players with potential for further development from either higher league club's reserves/academies, or lower league sides. it is working well, so why would we want to change that? I think that we could sign a young striker from a league two, or one side and come up with another gem to be brought on. Mind you, if we do go up and if Stones is sold, I would set about the permanent signing of a good number of our current raft of loanees, starting with Fletcher and Isgrove.
No chance we're in for Simon Cox. It's another Leroy Lita, Keith Treacy signing we've done with those unless they're something really special - Adam Hammill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm a big fan of cox. Isn't this one a bit small though? Not prolific recently either. Firing blanks.
