Misread it at first, thought it was the other K Jackson of local 'fame'.

how many strikers do we need? Or are we hedging our bets for when Super Sam and the rest depart?

So that's Watkins, Winnall and Tuton 1st team squad

Ash, White, Payne & Jackson all competing for positions in the squad

I'd say we're looking alright for strikers if any 2 of these young/new lads does well

Think Winnall will be off whatever the division too.

The plan is develop them and sell them while they're hot whilst having a replacement already in the squad. Unless Sam signs a new deal its time to cash in. January 2017 comes round it knocks a few hundred thousand off his value.

Southampton are the model to look at they have done it excellently and always sold at the right time without damaging the teams progress.

Exactly. And even if, say only one or two of White, Ash, Tuton, Payne and Jackson become first team regulars and get sold on for good money, it's been worth it; they won't have cost us much

Throw enough potential at a wall and some might stick... :D

Surely we'll sign a bit more of a known striker regardless of division? I'm all for signing non league talent on the cheap but we need someone who's experienced at l1/Championship level.

A proven championship goal scorer is vital if we go up. But obviously they won't come cheap. Look at Sunderland, Defoe, a proven goal scorer was the reason they stayed up. We'd need someone similar

If we go up we need to be cherry picking young players with potential in this division we're currently in. With most we only need the words "Championship football" to convince them. Ariyibi from Chesterfield is a start on the wings. Started at Southampton as well which adds to his stock.

I asked a friend here who supports Wreham if he was any good and got this reply:

Yes – one of the few decent players we had. Have you spiders in Barnsley ? I think that he was bitten by one and missed a fair chunk of last season.

Hope not. What was the last 'known' player before Hammill who came in and really made a positive contribution? How does that compare to the big name players who came in with bags of experience and yet somehow conspired to take the team and club backwards? Even Wabara, though he looked OK, ended up being upstaged by Bree and Williams over the season.

We didn't sign any established League One players to compete for promotion at League One level.

League one and two don't have a big gap in quality. The Championship is way different.

    just corrected himself

Got it wrong – it was his strike partner James Gray ! Jackson was an improving player as the season progressed though.

Ariyibi was probably the best player I saw this season along with Payne from Southend but from the sounds of it, that standard he showed was very few and far between in the rest of his games. Id like to see us go for Payne mind and I also liked the look of Mantom from Walsall, even if we did hammer them. Looked like he's got a bit about him.
