Since when did Wetherspoons (well at least my local one) stop doing Sunday roasts and instead do an all day brunch?!?! Absolutely astounded.
I recently attended an EU referendum debate and the owner of Wetherspoons was on the panel on the out side. Members of the audience were encouraged to submit questions by email or tweet and at the end the Chairman of the discussion was to chose one or two to put to the panel. The only one he chose to put was for the Wetherspoons man and it was " why have you stopped doing Sunday roasts?" He said he would speak to the questioner outside but didn't tell the rest of us.
Low margin due to high cost of goods. Too much prep time in the kitchen. Not as popular as they once were. Wetherspoons sell more poached eggs than anyone in the country due to their brunch offer, and breakfast takes a ridiculously high amount of their sales mix.
Consider yourself told. Millions of meals sold a year. It is what it is. Value for money can't be argued with, whether the pubs are for you personally or not.
Just because they sell millions a year doesn't mean I agree it's edible though. Marmite is sold within the millions and I think that's sh*te too.
Don't recall that - seeing as Sky have been showing NFL for about 20 years and they only recently lost the Champions League.
Occasionally do Saturday afternoon sessions with a mate, and it generally starts in Wetherspoons because we know there's plenty on the menu for some nosh and my mates a veggie but knows he'll find something he'll eat. It is what it is - not bad at all for the price, especially when theres a decent pint included. However, if I'm going out for Sunday lunch I'd rather go someplace like the Strafford Arms.
Bizarrely, called in for a quick bite at the one on bottom of Market Hill one lunchtime with the missus when we were visiting my daughter. Had a steak which turn out to be one of the tastiest tenderest and best cooked I had been served up anywhere for sometime. Not the biggest admittedly but at the price I was paying, and given it was only a lunch, I had no complaints whatsover about the food. Pity the same could not be said about the clientele given the tatooed loudmouth and his mate at the table knocking back pints and effin and blinding for all to hear. Not actually being abusive to anyone but not nice to hear when it is a family pub and women and children are around.
Dont remember ever seeing nfl on sky sports before a couple of years back. Either way they need to get their acts together, who wants to watch that ****? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
