Christ. Certain people are making it out like we're off to war on Sunday. It's over shadowing the fact that it should be a great day for those all involved, including the majority of their fans who are just like us.
I think people are a bit wary after what happened against Cardiff. Some of their fans were very unpleasant and Millwall have a similar if not worse reputation. I hope it's families coming up from South London, like families travel down from Barnsley, rather than the gangs of blokes we got against Cardiff.
Add that to the fact that some Millwall fans smashed the windows of coaches just last week and that their club hasn't had the balls to condemn that behaviour.
The ratio of 'there will be trouble' threads to 'can't wait for a great day out' threads is somewhat saddening.
Based on percentage of season ticket holders that purchase a club replica shirt, they must be number 92 in the list. The club themselves do very little about the reputation of the club and even seem to revel in it making money from selling no one likes us t shirts especially for the match. No matter the result on sunday it's as obvious as the sky is blue that the BBS is going to be littered with many horrible stories of what they saw on the day, so lets not be blind to what's going to happen. Of course the majority are going to be great people who want to go and behave and watch a match. But there is no hiding from the fact they have more idiots than most. Look how they behaved last friday and that's after a victory.....
East Walsall actually Who ever they are Seriously though. East - Walsall / barnsley So they were printed before outcome of our game by the looks.
They were even at it in 1937. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en-gb"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">1937 <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/FACup?src=hash">#FACup</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Millwall?src=hash">#Millwall</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/MFC?src=hash">#MFC</a> fans pitch invasion after their team victory over Manchester City <a href="https://t.co/NMx8umUYt7">pic.twitter.com/NMx8umUYt7</a></p>— Casual Mind (@CasualMind_) <a href="https://twitter.com/CasualMind_/status/735083049457750016">24 May 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Unless they're misbehaving, what's wrong with 'gangs of blokes'? Days out at Wembley aren't just for families, many clubs have followings disimilar to the oxford/ipswich family style followings. We'll have plenty of lads on the beer as well. I'm sure the Met will keep any trouble to a minimum.
We're playing at the National Stadium. Nothing will happen inside the ground or in the immediate vicinity. Massive security presence. There may be some pockets of idiots before and after but that will no doubt apply to both sides. Everyone needs to chill out a bit. It's just another Wembley final.
From Facebook: We are inundated with inquiries regarding the wording on the Play Off Final tickets. Please be aware that all tickets state East - Walsall/Barnsley. This is because the tickets were printed before the qualifying teams were known. It does not state Walsall v Barnsley the / means or, as in the team in the East are Walsall or Barnsley. Please be assured these are the correct tickets. Followed by: when I say inundated I really mean it. Driving me nuts now.
