Weird though. Because he wouldn't get in our team. Robbo and Alf all day long. :D

At Barca, he wouldn't need to defend. He'd practically be a midfielder.

I hope that's where he ends up. Get him out of the horrid media spotlight over here.

I've thought that often. Wouldn't be surprised if Guardiola sees that in him.

Very true. Big clubs always sign someone based off what they do in one tournament over a few weeks. Last world cup it was James Rodriguez. Been going on for decades. Liverpool are one of the main culprits. Even back in the 1990s they signed the likes of Taribo West, Patrick Berger, Sami Hyypia and Vladimir Smicer all barely heard of if at all before one decent tournament got them a big money move to a big club. If Stones has a big month in France the biggest clubs around won't care about his disapointing club season because he will go for the big money spoke of last summer.

He doesn't even need a good tournament. He'll get a move and for big money.

He probably won't even start anyway. What with Cahill and smalling being so brilliant and reliable...

The vultures are circling because they all know how good he is - and - importantly - how much better he can (and will) be.

He has been made to look poor at Everton this season, but Martinez has shown at every club that he is completely defensively inept as a coach. He makes poor decisions at times does stonesy, but he's obviously had inadequate coaching, and he's still a baby. I still reckon he's gonna be as good as beckenbauer. He's got the attributes anyway.

Get him under a proper gaffer and watch. Pep knows, Jose knows.

It's only the know nowts up Fleet Street who reckon he's *****

Yeah, because Hyypia, Berger and Smicer all turned out to be rubbish for Liverpool.

Didn't say they were bad. Just that many big clubs through the years have signed barely heard of football players for big money after a few good weeks in one tournament. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. If Stones has a good Euros he will go for big money and his disapointing club season will be forgotten. If he has a poor summer his club form is much more likely to be brought up and the sums mentioned for him 12 months ago much harder to get off anyone.
