For me, will be Ashley Fletcher and Lloyd Isgrove. I don't doubt that Millwall will have focused on trying to nullify the threat from Adam Hammill and Sam Winnall - possibly excessively so. The great news for us is we have Fletcher and Isgrove to cause as many problems for them, with Marley Watkins and Ivan Toney to possibly come on later on as well. We seem to have an awful lot of options, compared to recent seasons. COYR!
Some comments on their forums suggest that putting Ash & Lloyd into Row Z will shake 'em up 'cos they're PL lightweights and won't like it up 'em. I'd hazard a guess it would have exactly the opposite effect.
We've two many folk for them to worry about, our pace at this level is frightening, we'll kill anyone in the division on the break. And usually that's all we've had to do to win games comfortably.
Our 76 yellows and 1 straight red this season compares with Millwall's 86 yellows and 4 straight reds. Not that much in it. Hopefully, ex Premier League ref Attwell will help prevent too much skullduggery. But to be honest, we stood up manfully to them when beating them at Oakwell.
I've been very impressed with Fletcher in the last couple of months. I wasn't completely convinced for a while, but he has been at the bare minimum, a top end league 1 player. But in the last 4 or 5 games, he's been performing at such a standard that he wouldn't look out of place at the top end of the championship if not the bottom end of the premier league. He's been that good. I think he's as nailed on as anyone to get the winner. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Fletch came in from the 21s, with no league experience. I personally think his development has been phenomenal and I reckon he'll go on to be a top striker Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like Fletcher, I think he's a really good prospect and some of his performances of late have been terrific. What worries me though, was his performance in the first half against Oxford - granted, there wasn't a whole lot going on from many of the team in that first half, but he was very much anonymous. It wasn't really until he actually scored, that he raised his game a little and looked a little livelier. I don't know what it was that day, but aside from the last 30 minutes, we looked nervous, standoffish and a shadow of the team we've been for the second half of this season. I can only put it down to the occasion, getting the better of most of the players, but in the end our quality shone through and we recorded a great result. I hope that the experience of that occasion will stand us in good stead for Sunday's battle, and give us the edge to come out on top in what will surely be an exciting game between two good sides.
Adam Hammill Adam ar knows tha knows They’ll try t’ wind thee up good and proper They’ll kick thee abart all or’t place It’s certain tha’ll end up a cropper! Tha’ll have two on em kicking thee Adam From very first minute to last Thas got to keep thi cool, mi owd Cos soon they’ll be long gone passed But when on thi arse, just tek a breather Dunt let that red mist gather Tha’ll get thi revenge when balls int net And Millwalls all in a lather Anon in’t net And t Millwall will be in all in a lather
Fletcher is literally getting better and better game by game, he is a better player now than when he last played at Wembley, and he is stronger than he looks when he wants to be. The Blunts tried kicking Lloyd all over the pitch but it didn't stop him, always driving forward, puts his body on the line everytime!
I wouldn't know how to prepare a team for Sam Winnall if I'm honest. I'd almost take the decision that if you stop our other attacking players and just focus on marking Winnall tightly, then he becomes more annonymous. I'd be focusing on our wide players and Fletcher if I were Millwall. Easier said than done like. Excited to see Isgrove and Fletcher get another crack at Wembley. We weren't in great form heading in to that Oxford game and it showed for them two in my opinion. Izzy MUST be nailed on to get his first goal on Sunday?
Roberts and Mawson are the key men. If they nullify Morrison and Gregory, we'll win. Although in all seriousness I don't think you can pin it down to one or two players. Every player in our team can has the ability to take the game by the scruff of the neck. If one or two do then I can see us getting the win, whoever it may be.
If Brownhill continues recent form... If Scowen isn't troubled enough to stop him forming attacks... If Davies is once again pulling off saves out of the top drawer... I love this team.
Fletcher's improved more than anyone this past couple of months. It wasn't long ago that he was dropped for Toney & it looked like him & Winnall wouldn't work as a partnership but since then Fletcher's clearly worked on his all round game & is a team player now. His hold up play & the runs he made for the team were brilliant against Walsall & Wigan.
