ITV pundits saying he played well, and is likely to mean Drinkwater misses out on the squad. Am I alone in wondering what Henderson actually offers?

Thought he was awful. Caught out of position throughout. He'll be shown up against quality midfielders

I don't see what he offers. There are far better players out there

The way these 'experts' just said Barkley could miss out aswell. Why would you take Henderson, Milner or Wilshere over Drinkwater who's just been the engine of the PL title winning side?

I'm sure if Drinkwater played for either Manchester side Liverpool or Arsenal Chelsea or Spurs he would be in the starting 11. But Leicester are not big enough. After all to misquote hemsy. If he was any good he would be playing for one of them

I can understand Barkley missing out. He started the season well, but his form dropped off, as his club's did. He's still very poor in his decision making and final ball, for me. Better options in his position.

Barkley, Delph and Henderson/Sturridge are the three I'd leave out.

Putting Wilshere in the same category as Henderson and Milner is slightly bizarre.

Plus favouring Drinkwater over Wiltshere is similarly bizarre.

    To me, anyway.

Whats so good about Wilshere like? What has he ever done? For me he epitomises everything thats wrong at Arsenal these days. As Roy Keane says, he's too bothered about taking selfies.

Barkley should be starting. He's not had the greatest second half of the season but he's still an immense talent. He's already one of the best ball carriers in world football and his drive from midfield could be crucial if we plan to set up to counter attack like we did against Germany.

Besides, theres no alternatives anyway. Henderson, Milner, Delph, Wilshere dont even come close for me.

apart from those 2 brilliant goals away to slovenia last year, i cant think of anything else wilshere has done in an england shirt. the same goes for various other rubbish players who hodgson seems to like.

I like Roy as a person but this 'stick with the players who've done well in the last 2 years' is a shocking stance to have. We have played absolutely nobody in competitive games and players like Drinkwater who have only just been given a chance but have been phenomenal this season should be ahead of the Hendersons and Wilsheres.

Henderson, Delph & Rashford miss out for me.

    Delph is pretty obvious.

Henderson's been worse than Milner in central midfield for Liverpool this season & he's also just returning from injury & he doesn't have the kind of quality Sturridge & Wilshere have where they're worth gambling on.

Can't understand why you'd take 5 strikers & only play 1 up front & use Vardy & Rashford out wide. That to me is just stupid, you might get away with it against poor sides but if you play strikers out wide against good sides you'll get found out.

That's why I wouldn't take Rashford. He's unlucky that he's a striker because in most other positions in his form I'd take him but I can't justify taking him over Kane, Sturridge, Vardy or Rooney & I can't justify taking 5 strikers when you only play 1 up front.
