I like Owen and I like much of what he stands for.....he is a young idealist...but if he thinks he can change the EU he is sadly mistaken.

Our Referendum will serve as a big wake up call to the EU and I believe their will be major reform should we vote to remain. It won't be instant but it will happen.
If we vote to leave ( which I doubt) then I fear the ordinary working person with no doubt major changes in working terms and conditions Including paid accrued holidays, Maternity/Paternity leave. Anyone doubting this may have missed a recent report from A conference which was addressed by Employment Minister and Brexit campaigner Pritti Patel. She told this conference of top business bosses that the employment laws would be addressed should we leave. Added to this, Brexit is supported by the likes of the Tory right wing, IDS, Bungling Boris, all great reasons to vote Remain. Oh, and like Cameron and Osbourne's their days are numbered whatever the outcome. Vote Remain keep your working rights.

Yes well, according to your user name, your retired and things like protection at work won't affect you. It will affect me and future generations. Protection at work have been hard fought for over hundreds of years and much has been enshrined in law. Why would any ordinary working person put these in jeopardy, and believe me, they will be in jeopardy.

And will rise even greater without the EU protection,
If you believe right wing Tories only want what's best for the working man ,you deserve what you get.

If you want to make the rich, richer, and be run by an an unelected bunch of civil servants in Brussels, then vote Remain, otherwise vote Leave. As far as I am concerned le Remain bunch with their scare tactics and forecasts with the word 'could, introduced every time, have made me even more convinced that to Leave would be a good thing.

The Remain side said that house prices will go down by anything from 18% to 30%. If I was a youngster wanting to get on the housing ladder, that would read like good news to me.

So the Brexiteers, who largely represent bodies that have deliberately run-down the NHS in the quest for privatisation. Would suddenly reinvest any monies saved in the NHS and our infrastructure. The Tory right wing have gone all caring and concerned about the masses. My arse,Couldn't make it up could you?

I'm confused. Cameron wants us to stay, yet people are saying if we leave it'll be better for the Tories and worse for workers?

I mostly agree with what you have written however it largely undermines your pro EU argument .
As you say those protections and benefits have been fought for and earned over centuries....nothing to do with the EU.....undoubtedly the Tories will try and shaft things , but we can elect the Labour party ...this is their job above all other things...it's in the Party name. Don't forget the experience of Greece...they elected the most enlightened Govt. in the EU but we're smacked hard to get back in line.
