I've been told if we want to keep him he will cost 8k per week. I was also told after the Wigan game that our recruitment team deemed him to be ineffective as he was only good in 1 every 5 games. On top of that they didn't believe he had the defensively capability to cope in the championship and this is why he failed there before. Also because of his age they do not believe he will improve and would not create value in the future. Finally if we did sign him on 8k per week we would have to carry 2-4 less first team players in the squad and this would weaken us over the season. Let's see what happens.. I heard from a reliable source hourahine will sign a new deal and that was before a ball was kicked yestdi.
Who'd manage a football club eh? Lots of very tricky decisions to be made over the next couple of weeks. I'd be surprised if the priority wasn't to keep the team together but I've been surprised many times before. My guess on one would be that George Moncur will sign soon now our Championship status is confirmed.
Winnall would take some replacing aswell hope he stays. Also hope the alfie Mawson to brizzle rumours have no substance.
His post match interview sounded like he wanted to stay. If we are making an extra 6 million in the championship he should be first name on team sheet. 2 year contract, but if we are relegated we have release clause.
Hammill has proven he's quality in the championship. With us! He is a player who we need to keep if we want to be successful next season. He did OK in prem, lost his way, but now is a much better player than before. If he wants £8k a week we'll pay that. Because it's not much more than he's on currently...!
I'd love to see as much of this side stick together as possible but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a very interesting couple of months where as a result we have a quite different team. Isgrove and Fletcher may well return on loan, but I'd imagine there would be a queue of clubs also eager to get them. Would Isgrove choose us or say a Reading, Brentford, Bristol City etc? Who knows. Re Hammill, I think his signature would also be sought after. Bids may come back in for Winnall and I'm sure Mawson will be attracting interest. Very difficult but exciting times ahead I venture for BFC. Let's stick together and if we have to say goodbye to a couple of our better players so be it. What a season!
If we are serious about progressing then signing Hammill would be crucial. He galvanised the team and is a talisman.
Tommy Graham more important to get signed up than anyone else imho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes. I could see some being tempted to stay on a year though, on better wages. We'll lose 2-3 I reckon, but we'll bring some quality in.
It's definitely a lot more than he's currently on. He isn't the highest paid player. We do need to do everything in our power to keep him though he is outstanding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fair point but Isgrove would be mad to choose any of those instead of us. Reading have lost their way, Brentford have less potential than us and Bristol might do OK but we really kicked on under Hecky and Isgrove has had the best season of his life with us. That feel-good factor will have a big impact on his decision
Fact- He wins games Fact- He turned this season around into what we've just experienced Fact- Scored two of the best goals at Wembley your ever likely to see 8k a week is cheap Adam galvanises the team and fans and puts bums on ( and gets them off) seats My prediction is - he'll stay - he's a red !!
I'm sure I read or heard somewhere that they "broke the wage structure" to sign him and this had the approval of the existing players?
