Mawson's got 2 years left, so he won't be going unless they can afford a few million. The others are free agents so it's up to them if they want to link up with LJ.
LJ's like one of them whack-a-mole games you find in Blackpool. Seems every time Barnsley get some media attention, the little ***** sticks his head up.
Best not to worry who goes. We only want players who want to be here. Team spirit is key!! Believe Brownhill and Wright already signed on with LJ (if not officially). Hammill will sign back on. Mawson will go. But think it will be to a higher team than Bristol. And for at least a couple of million. If we replace with Long think that could be good business. After this season I trust Mansford and Hecky to go and get the players we need to carry on this remarkable spirit.
After the highs of the last 6 months. Why would anyone want to go back to play for leaving Johnson and he appalling football tactics and arrogance
Where are all the Bristol rumours coming from? I haven't seen anything other than PNE fans saying Brownhill to Bristol is rumoured to be true from their end. Not saying it's not true, but wondering what the source is.
This should show as a reminder as to how he scrambled with our players heads. <a href='http://postimage.org/' target='_blank'><img src='http://s33.postimg.org/703d31jjz/Screenshot_000920.jpg' border='0' alt="Screenshot 000920" /></a><br /><a target='_blank' href='http://postimage.org/'>gif hosting</a><br /><br />
After Cardiff in 2006 we lost McPhail and failed to sign Chopra. Hopefully lessons have been learnt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Alan Nixon - journalist on Twitter. I think he works for The Sun. He's usually pretty accurate when it comes to Barnsley, and certain other clubs.
I hope so on this occasion. I seem to remember he used to link us with Liam Kelly and Jonathan Forte, when Johnson was in charge.
Players I particularly want us to keep Davis Roberts Hourihane Hammill Winnall Isgrove Any others is a bonus but that nucleus of the team will allow to build around it.
IMHO lasy media reporting... i.e. old manager move to Bristol, linked with old players... If any of them do make the move, personally I feel it could be a step backwards. All have been more settled since LJ left us, and with greater chance of playing regular football first team football with us. In recent times Bristol City have faired no better in the Championship than us. So IMHO Bristol would be a sideways move. Also was it LJ's decision to sign Adam Hammill or pressure from above. I believe the latter! And in recent times how many players have made their career at Barnsley and then gone to rival club and seen their careers go off track. Hammill being a prime example! So many scenarios this summer. Will Stones be sold for £100m. Will any key players be sold for big money or leave on the cheap? Will we bag any box office signings? speculation gone mad
Hammill: If it's not down to money (he should be more than enough well off already for that to be the biggest factor) he will sign back up. If he doesn't sign for us I don't think he will move his young family a few hundred miles away. No idea about the lifestyle of his family but football players are away from home alot and where he's based now will be alot easier for his mrs to see family/friends. Brownhill: If he goes to Brizzle it's definitely for the money. He's from around this area and has at least us and PNE from this area wanting him and probably some more. Great catchment area for plenty of decent local derbies. Silly money aside I don't see why he'd entertain Brizzle. Mawson: Get the Vince Mcmahon WWE theme music playing because there is no chance in hell of that happening. Apart from him having two years left and being our new Stones, Brizzle can't afford someone who could be premiership bound in January if he has a good first half season with us. He was a Brentford player, had a season at Wycombe and had a season at us. He'd be silly to have four clubs in four years to play for. Wright: Might well happen. If it does i'm sure just like when Hecky took over from LJ that it will be complete plain sailing. Another highly thought of former player will probably slot straight into the role.
If Preston let Brownhill go to another Championship club - be it us or Bristol City or whoever - they are mental.
