Alan Nixon's just tweeted that "Bristol City. Brownhill thing moving fast. And Preston already planning to spend the money." Hope he's got this wrong. Seemed happy enough 2 days ago <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">PROMOTED TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GET IN THERE No better feeling Best day of my life <a href="https://t.co/CSpYwWHUDK">pic.twitter.com/CSpYwWHUDK</a></p>— Josh Brownhill (@Brownhill10) <a href="https://twitter.com/Brownhill10/status/736983385151799297">May 29, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
They won't even sign one of them, just the usual tabloid ballox common at this time of year. And in any case, Johnno's a ponce so they won't sign for him.
If I was a player in these circumstances, my first question of LJ would be "why should I sign for you again, after you've already jumped ship to further your own career once?" I'd already feel pretty betrayed by LJ's actions, so signing up for him again would be the last thing I'd want to consider.
If so, then there'll likely be other clubs willing to do the same thing. If it comes down to money to the extent that Barnsley are out of contention, then I doubt Bristol City will be the only option for the players concerned.
There's a fast acclimatisation to be had and remember what it was like in the Championship. where in league 1, we probably had our pick of the best for that division, in the championship, we're likely to be among the last. We spent some crazy money on some very average players last time. Where I have faith that we're wiser and have a more consistent approach to previously, it's still going to be hard competing contractually. £6m goes very quickly. And if a club is willing to have a punt and bust themselves, we cant.. and to be fair, we shouldn't, compete.
The self serving little bellend is just keeping his name in the paper attached to our club for our successes for next time he jumps ship. I have never looked forward to a persons career going downhill as much as that man. Absolutely no class whatsoever the way he's gone about leaving us and then constantly bigging himself up in the media ever since. Like how he supposedly rejected contract offers from prem clubs to go to Bristol aye alright lee. Not too bothered if Brownhill goes he's replaceable if mawson or hammill choose to go play for him again they deserve all that's coming to them when the new manager has come in by November and they are out on the fringes of the squad.
I'm pretty sure the club will already know what Brownhills intentions are and have plans in place to deal with this. Don't underestimate the player Jak MCCourt will become.
Hope he doesn't get any but at this time of year you win some and you lose some, you always like to think loyalty will win out and we will retain everyone we would like to but equally we will be doing our level best to rip other clubs better players out from under them.
Re: Hope he doesn't get any True, he was never our player and owes us nothing I suppose. I'm still disappointed we'll not be signing him. Maybe I need to start managing my own expectations.
Why would any of our players want to join them? Either in terms of playing for LJ again or to join a club who are no bigger than us and probably a team that is no better than us. Perhaps they have a bit more money but I'm sure they arn't the only Championship club tracking them so why would they choose to go there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Im not fussed by Brownhill going there, wants to be staying away from the rest though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
