What we achieved in the 2nd half of last season was on a par with anything Roy managed in all his years at the Rovers, although I doubt Melchester would have gone out of the F.A Cup in the first round to Altincham.

Good job we went out in the first round, i couldn't have afforded three trips to Wembley.

I've just checked the records...Roy was injured for the Altrincham game.

    Roy would have still played.
i remember that match when they were 2-0 down at half time and had his leg broken early on in the second half ( no subs in those days ) he carried on and scored a hat trick to win 3-2 all headers of course.

Although it's not confirmed by the records , going from memory I think he'd actually broken both legs...not that that was the problem it was the boots...couldn't get any boots to fit over the pots....Roy was gutted.

Billy the Fish. Not sure he was as good as Carter though.
