It does say something about Lee Johnson's integrity that he is attempting to dismantle the Barnsley side that treated him with such respect and dignity last season. The club that stood by him during eight successive defeats, allowed him to leave as they were pushing for promotion and even hosted him during the JP trophy deserve better than this. It also smacks of 'lazy' management that he would rather pilage his former club than create something new and exciting at Bristol City.

I totally agree with this sentiment as I have posted before.

It's pretty poor conduct in my view.

There is such a word as "No".
As a newly promoted, ambitious championship club we should now have enough nous to tell such people to go away and not bother us.
Or are we still a selling club?

Managers often move on and attempt to bring in players/staff they know of, from their previous clubs. I understand fans thinking it's a bit wrong, considering how the club stuck by him, but that's football for you. Loyalty means little these days. Success and money means more. As we may also see with Hammill..

We should have had an agreement with Bristol City as a condition on him being allowed to speak to them.

Although anything concerning OUR players is just rumour. The others aren't contracted to us.

He is absolutely right. I hope the club feel the same way and tell him where to go when he comes in for players.

The bloke is a snake and I think he will be found out by Bristol City fairly quickly.

I reckon he would probably have had restrictive covenants in his contract to stop him going back and soliciting our staff, like lots of normal employees have in their contracts of employment. These usually last around 6 months post termination.....

Of course we are a selling club! Most clubs are! We've been pretty clear that's our model, which is fair enough and understandable.

Always suspected he was behind the attempted recruitment of Ched Evans after his conviction ,
If it were the case then his morals are truly laid bare and hides no surprises.

That means nothing to agents who only have to elbow nudge their client into making the first move .

It shows how useless he is in the transfer market. Players at Oakwell were identified by our recruitment team/system not Johnson. LJs only contribution was Conor Wilkinson - a player he'd had at Oldham. A player who the powers that be at Oakwell insisted wasnt good enough and were proved right.

LJ probably did want Evens at Oldham because he was an obvious target who he had heard of. All this knackers he came out with about watching every touch of the ball a player had done for the past 10 fecking years was complete nonesense. He sat at home watching TV while BFC picked out his players for him. If he had watched every touch of the ball from Conor Wilkinson he wouldn't have got near our club.

Now he has left us he's fecking lost and just trying to sign players he knows

Having been around a long time and met lots of people from all walks of life, I reckon I can pick a con man out pretty quickly
Johnson was a little con man. A man who studied manuals and books on aspects of Football. He talked a good game but could never make it work in practice.
His run of losses only came to an end when the Barnsley fans told him how to play our team. He had our team going up their own arses at times.
The likes of Roberts, Davies, Williams. Mawson and others were poor under him. He is one of the almighty bullshitterss in the game today. May be wrong but Brostol City will be in lower part of table this year. Cannot wait for the little dwarf to walk out at our home game with them

Not a LJ fan at all but not sure how people can have a go at him for signing our players when he hasn't. Let's save the abuse till he actually does

Approaching is the same thing. While the play offs were under way if reports are to be believed.
