I have just watched the highlights of last Sunday's game again. What a day. Thinking about the games we played in the month of May has there ever been such an important string of fixtures, all must win, in which we have performed so well and so confidently? I remember when we played Walsall away in the League. We scored first but after that they were all over us up until half time but I said to my wife don't worry Hecky and Tommy will sort this out at half time and that is exactly what happened. Second half different team - total control. This is what gives me confidence for next season. Its going to be really tough but we have a management team who appear to be able to produce game plans which produce results and change our performance. The same thing happened at Wembley last week when Millwall were in the ascendancy before half time but not at the races in the second half. We may lose some of our loan players but we have a good squad of young ambitious players - they are going to see us in good stead I believe. Continue to play without fear. What we have now which we haven't had for a good long time is real team spirit and a real rapport between the fans and the team. We must keep this rapport going through the tough times ahead. In a recent Racing Post article their editor, a Palace fan, spoke of their dark days when they were losing to teams "the likes of Barnsley". I wrote to him suggesting among other things that there must be many fans around the country who dreamed of supporting a team "the likes of Barnsley" - proper team, proper fans, proper owner, proper CEO, and most importantly a proper manager (ok Head Coach). Come on You Reds
In a recent Racing Post article their editor, a Palace fan, spoke of their dark days when they were losing to teams "the likes of Barnsley" He sounds like a bit of a pr1ck. The kind of fan that doesn't know that football exists outside of the top two leagues.
