There has never been an EU exit, so we don't know what will happen, but, there has been one example of what might happen.

Switzerland 1992 - the country had a referendum to enter and chose to not go into the EU.

Switzerland has been hailed by the Brexit campaign as a shining example of leading an existence outside the clutches of Brussels.

Watch the youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsNXmfqQqOU for a look at the reality of the Swiss story.

For those who don't want to watch all 17 mins in a nutshell -

Post 1992 Switzerland thought they would quickly have a trade deal with the EU in place - it never happened.

10 years later after suffering the worst recession in history the Swiss begged for a trade deal on EU terms - the terms being to be subject to EU rules and regs, open their borders to freedom of movement (the Swiss are apparently quite resistant to this, worse than little Englanders) and pay a fee to the EU for the right to trade - they gave in and signed the agreement.

Their economy has recovered but they had 20 years of recession and slow recovery, it put their country back years.

I don't want that to happen to this country.

Imagine all that plus Boris and Farages austerity plus - screw the north in order to save London.

Again only tells you the parts they want you to hear. Does it tell of the breakdown of the shengen borders which could cost billions, the trade deal is for agricultural products , cheese grommet , so you can set deals up , but on your own terms

Norway have no probs at all

they have kept out but have an agreement ... to this day they have had no worries. Lets get out I say... I do not see us having any worries dealing with other countries outside the EU... but I do see us being able to get back to being a des-res.. as we get rid of the ***** that's arriving on our door steps daily... and not being fleeced by millions daily by the EU.

It's only the opinion of Samuel Knopf. It may be fact based but he isn't speaking on behalf of the Swiss government or the Swiss nation. I don't know enough about Switzerland, it's economy or its trade deals to be influenced by his video and I'm guessing that is true of many, if not all, of the BBS community.

but all the brexit campaingers on here seem certain they know exactly whats going on in variuos non EU countries, thats why they are voting to leave they keep saying! each to their own and all that, we wont ever fall out over it but there are some pretty lousy reasons people are voting leave for.

My reasons for voting out have nothing to do with other countries. Of course I listen to propaganda about how things could and how other nations trade be but I also realise that here is an element of the unknown and a degree of risk to leaving the EU but all things considered I think we will have a better future out of the union.

This is of course the same Switzerland that's been consistently one of the richest countries in the world . The one who's employment rate surged to half that of the EU during that recession.

I don't think you read or watched any of that did you.

The Swiss have to take the "***** that's arriving on our door steps daily".

I'm all for it to be fair, I prefer a lot of the ***** that's arrived on our doorsteps to the homegrown *****.

Ok, Greenland left, but kind of stayed as it has a political union with Denmark and may apply to join fully again if reports are believed.

But... Greenland is on the other side of the Atlantic and has a population of 12 and a GDP of £3.45.

There are some pretty lousy reasons people are voting to remain for. It is more than a little ironic that whilst David Cameron seems increasingly in a blind panic about the growing prospect that he might lose this argument and we might vote to leave, in the end he may be saved by people voting to remain because of the fears of what HIS government may do with a free hand if we leave. Bizarre.

you are quite right of course. isnt it an embarrassment that we all know exactly what them tory fcuckers will do if we leave. and yet many folk seem quite happy with it because they dont like immigration. now thats bizarre.
