Utterly pathetic and sadly predictable. Anyone arrested should just be jailed, for the duration of the tournament. Despise those cnuts with a passion. The irony of that fat **** screaming 'CALM DOWN!!!' into the copper's face over & over is obviously beyond him. Shoot on sight.

Fuel England fans with booze. Send round the local Ultra's and sit back with cameras and watch it kick off.

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but seem to be claiming the England "fans" are the victims here.

Let's be honest even England fans not going to be stupid enough to get arrested over their

Totally different story in France with thousands more attending and only 3 hours on train

Quite a lot of people referring to the locals that turned up as Marseille Ultra's.

Re: "Isis where are you ?"

I followed England abroad for years, l've witnessed the British press paying locals to throw bottles at pubs containing England fans so they can get their pictures once they had started a riot, this happened in '98 in Marseille. It also sounds like the same local gangs are back out to fight the English. In Germany in 06 the press were there waiting with their camera's once the police had tried to kettle us all up a road after we were peacefully drinking in the square.

I attended an England Members Club meeting once at Ardsley House where our own Alan Bloor was a speaker, police officials also attended. Many gave shocking accounts of our own press and their tactics to goad the England fans, this led to our own uniformed Police travelling with England supporters. In Germany the tournament went off without major incident, English bobbies on the beat joing in the banter. l remember a scuffle in Cologne and that's about it, it was bigged up as a full scale riot by the press but to say over 90,000 had descended on the country it was pretty minor.

Don't get me wrong England fans have been bad in the 80's/90's but in recent history they've been pretty well behaved.

Re: "Isis where are you ?"

I was in Marseilles and Lens in '98. I was also in Cologne and Stuttgart in Germany. I saw trouble at every one. It seems to have the same pattern. Starts off lighthearted, then turns boisterous then the ale and coke kicks in and chairs start getting thrown around. Then the police/armed police steam in heavy handed.

Re: "Isis where are you ?"

I didn't see any major trouble in Germany (Cologne, Nuremburg where l was) just minor scuffles that happen at every tournament from various countries. There was major trouble between the Poles and German's that trounced anything the English had done in recent history, but not much reported.

The English were the number one, they're targeted now wherever they go. Locals come out to have a go, it happens for all the clubs in Europe. Tottenham & Roma a recent example.

Re: "Isis where are you ?"

There are a number of factors, yes we have our fair share of idiots but we generally take a massive following to these tournaments compared to other countries so whilst the idiots are a small percentage, that's sometimes quite a lot of idiots!

Also, the idiots from other countries target the English because they see the English as being the 'top boys' from the 70's and 80's, even to the point where they started hooliganism off in their own country on the back of the behaviour they saw from the English over those 2 decades.

Throw into the mix the 'locals' who want a fight 'with the foriegners', even though they aren't bothered about football, and it's all but guaranteed to kick off somewhere at some point.

Expect a statement from the Millwall supporters club condemning the French.
